After a bit of tweaking of the idle screw (no throttle mechanism fitted) the beast burst into life. This engine was an ex-karting unit running on LPG. After a complete component strip down, check and clean, I've fitted a new carb and carb insulator, new piston rings (cylinder has been honed) and a new head gasket. Valves have been freshly lapped and I have noticed that the previous owner has ported both the intake and exhaust for better air flow/power. The whole engine is in pretty good condition and also benefits from a pulse pump feed connector on the intake portion of the head. This engine has been de-governed by the previous owner too. The clutch/gearbox could probably do with a couple of new oil seals and maybe the clutch plates will need attention soon too. It's ready for work though :)
