A few days ago, I was having a random conversation with my next-door neighbor while watching a movie. The movie is centered on a woman wanting to find her own identity after thirty years of marriage, just being a housewife and a mother, and called for separation.
Then immediately, my neighbor opined that women are the root cause of broken homes. I was in total shock and still trying to understand if it was just a hypothetical statement or his view based on the movie we are watching. But nope, he was so convinced and even gave statistics of 95%. In his assertion, a woman is supposed to make her home work not minding any situation she finds herself in.
This got me thinking if he was fine, for this is a sensitive issue and shouldn't be treated lightly. So I asked him the following questions
1: Where did you carry out your research?
2: What will a woman who is constantly abused physically and emotionally by her husband do?
3: What if the woman decides to stay and make the marriage work, but the husband is not yielding?
I just had to leave him with these three questions, and I am yet to get answers from him. This topic I will revisit in my next post. I really won't want to bore you all with my write-up.
Have a lovely and blessed new month Family.
