Parentage issues

in parentage •  5 years ago

In a custody/support case involving parents who are not married to each other, parentage must be established.

Often this involves a paternity test; however, in some cases paternity is not contested and can be established by a simple acknowledgement. Once paternity is established, cases proceed through the same stages as any other lawsuit affecting the parent-child relationship.

Custody, visitation and support are all issues that must be addressed. (See those practice areas.)

Your lawyer will assist you with every stage and aspect of the process and will help you arrive at a resolution guided by your goals and interests.
