Educate may be the hardest task for the parents. There is not a magic way to do it, just some good things which as a father or mother you should know and handle. Sometimes you can get confused about how to treat or -to be exact- how to educate your kids to become happy and responsible. I understand it could be a hard to make the best decision for them. So here I will give you some advises:

• Avoid emotional abuse with your children

It is called emotional abuse to the behaviors of parents or caregivers such as insults, rejection, threats, humiliation, contempt, criticism, isolation, fear and other behaviors that cause or may cause deterioration in emotional, social development, or Intellectual of the child. When a child is emotionally abused, he feels devalued, with low self-esteem and becomes anxious.

• Avoid embarrassing your children

Do not use offensive or denigrating terms when referring to your children, attacks on their reputation reduces the chances of identifying with the adult and damaging their self-esteem.

• Avoid being authoritarian

Authoritarian parents impose strict rules and expect them to be blindly obeyed. They consider that children and adolescents should be kept in line, focusing their educational efforts in order and control. This manner produces unhappy and reserved people with difficulties. Encourage according to each one's needs.

• Respect your children's opinions

Allow them to comment, listen carefully and find out what they want to say, give them the opportunity to express their point of view, do not underestimate their ideas and thoughts.

• Give home responsibility

Make sure that the responsibilities are clear and that you have understood them. If your children are not used to help in the house, gather them to explain why they should participate. Assign a task to each member of the family. Get everyone involved in the chores equally.

• Show them how much you love them

Tell your children that you want them, show them that you love them, let them feel that your love is unconditional that you love them no matter what. Give them kisses and hugs.

• Educate on trust and dialogue

For children to feel loved and respected, we need to practice dialogue at home. Do not infuse fear in your children, do everything possible to stay close to them and facilitate communication.

• Assume open-minded fashions

Children and adolescents are attracted by fashions such as: tattoos, piercings, extravagant and provocative clothing, haircuts and gaudy hairstyles, loud music and songs, sometimes somewhat indecent... Do not assume them intolerantly. Assume with open mind. However, children should not be tattooed or pierced without permission from their parents. With teenagers be flexible, dialogue and negotiate.

• Be always available

You must be available for your children always. There are problems that cannot wait, let them find you
whenever they are looking for you. Keep the doors open, make them feel worth listening to.

Remember never give up. In the education of children there are times and situations more difficult to handle than others. Don't expect everything to be learned or changed immediately.

Educating looks a lot like a sowing. You have to be patient regardless of how terrible things are.
