A Student Had A...

My 16 year old daughter came home from school to tell me that police were swarming her school today and she heard that a student had brought a gun to school. As a mom, my first reaction is terror and relief as my child was potentially at risk and is now home safe...but I’m also livid. I’m angry because I feel the administration has an obligation to keep parents well informed and even if there was no fun, the presence of a significant number of police is cause for concern.

I’m hoping that it was all just some misunderstanding and that no 14 year old angsty teenager brought a gun to School, but I know it could happen at any moment. My heart really just wants to hug on her and never let go....but what 16 year old wants that?
