Father. When this word is spoken or thought about, it elicits a wide range of emotions and feelings. When you think about your own father or other fathers you meet, you're likely to remember a lot of good and bad memories.

A father has a huge effect on a child's life. If he spends one day with his children or spends every day of their lives with them, he has a huge effect on them. A father's image of a man and a provider would last a lifetime in the minds of his children. Many young boys strive to be just like their fathers as they grow up.
What images or memories come to mind when you hear
the word "father"?
Are your initial thoughts friendly or unpleasant? Do you recall spending hours upon hours with your father as a child? Perhaps you recall your father teaching you to fish, climb trees, or build massive castles. Did you learn to ride a bike, catch a baseball, or throw a football from your father? If only everybody could be so fortunate as to have nothing but fond memories of their father.
A child's heart and life will be forever affected by having a good father. So, whether you grew up with an incredible father or a less-than-stellar father, it's critical that you commit to being a good father for your own children.

What makes you think you'll be a good father? It's as simple as loving your children as you would anyone else when it comes to being a good father. What does it take to love someone? Perhaps you consider the passage of time or the giving of gifts as a means of expressing your love for others. Spending time with your children is one of the best ways to be a good parent. Create time for them in your hectic schedule. Spend time immersing yourself in their worlds, learning about what they do at school, their mates, and the things that matter to them. If your children have no memories of time spent with their father, you will never have a strong relationship with them. So, instead of working those extra hours of overtime, spend them playing with and teaching your children.
Another way to become a great father is to compliment and affirm your children verbally. Kind words from a father or mother will significantly improve a child's trust and comfort. Think about the influence of your words and how one negative or positive remark will affect your kid. Negative comments or criticism would be remembered by most children, so look for ways to eliminate negative comments or criticism. Allow your kids to grow up hearing nothing but praise and affection from their father.
Having a wonderful father can be one of life's greatest blessings. And becoming a wonderful father can be one of life's biggest blessings. So, come up with new ways to get interested in the lives of your children, and be the kind of father they'll want to be someday.
