HELPING HIM IN HIS HOMEWORK

Great Minds
This evening I assisted my son to do his homework. The experience is really stressful but golden and quite memorable. Seriously I never knew it was that tough. This post captures the bitter sweet experience.

(Prince working very hard)

My son ran to greet me as I was coming back from work. After greeting he shouted, "Dad they gave me homework, please come and help me do it". That was unusual, ordinarily he would not ask me to come help him. It had always been his Mum that help out in homework because I do return late from work and most times he had finished doing his homework before my return from work. I rarely participate in the homework thing, so you can understand from where I am coming. I never gave it a second thought I immediately jumped at it. I called him inside and asked him to bring his homework so I can assist him. I thought it was a simple task but no! It was not, if I had known perhaps I would have eaten first before I started and even rested a bit. I was excited to help me son coupled with the sweet invitation from him. So those reasons I rushed into it.

(Happy ending for Dad and Prince)

We started the homework at about 1610 and we rounded up at about 1950. It took us 3 hours 40 minutes to complete it. Prince will write one letter and ran away to play. I would start to pt him to come back to write another.
The home is about two letter words. He was to write TO, SO, GO, OF, ON. That was all, but my son would write say T and disappear. Sometimes, I pet him and if that did not work I flogged me. I also had to give him drink and biscuits. There was no method I never applied before I was able to achieve a completion of the work. At a time I became frustrated and almost left him but then I remembered I was teaching a child.
Well the good thing is we finished the home and in a happy end. I gave him high five, drink and congratulated him for the patient too. I discovered not only me was patient he also was patient with my impatience. He was so happy he told his Mum that Dad said he did well. It was a whole lot of sweet experience though along the way was tiring but it worth it and I was fulfilled. I was glad I assisted my child to do his homework and I look forward to such great experience again. I now see how tedious the teaching work is. I was pf yhe opinion that the money charged me for his school fees is high. With this knowledge no amount is really enough.
I dough cap for my wife and their school teachers who had been doing this all these whiles.

Live sweet

Wow! It's nice helping the little ones with their homework. My leave with the family has also been much of assisting on my sons home work too. A good experience indeed

Yes oh, it is quite fulfilling. You are there

So grateful
Thanks a lot

Aww this is such a sweet post. My son feels really happy when his father helps him out with his homework, or plays more with him or involves him in his routine chores. Kids really do need the involvement of their dads in their life and experiences. You did well!
