The Paris Saint-Germain club has made a bid for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who will be out of action at the end of the season, French press reports said on Friday.
According to the website of "Le 10 Sport," St Germain, offered Wenger to take over as general manager of the club, for 4 years.
Wenger will leave Arsenal at the end of the season after spending 22 years with him. The 68-year-old Frenchman has expressed his desire to work for elite clubs in European football.
Paris, whose coach Unai Emery has announced his departure at the end of the season, wants Wenger to help build the team's future.
He added that the French club intends to appoint Thomas Thugel as coach. He will be assisted by Wenger, who, if accepted, will manage the club's affairs, including overseeing new contracts and managing the scouts' network.
But the site confirmed at the same time that the French coach intends to leave the options open to him until his departure from Arsenal.
Wenger has a good relationship with PSG president Nasser Al-Khulaifi after the coach worked as a former analyst on Al-Canal, which is headed by Al-Khalifi.
He concludes that St Germain does not see Wenger as a future coach, but looks forward to taking advantage of his experience in the coming period.
