In Eggard's book (and movie) The Circle tiny linked, real-time cameras everywhere make privacy a thing of the past. Eventually, honest politicians try to distance themselves from their corrupt brethren by "going transparent," wearing a camera on their lapel 24/7 so that the public knows exactly what they're doing at all times. Surveillance technology can cut both ways and (many of) the people are tiring of being lied to. Perhaps someday we'll say that enough is enough.
