Griffith Park is easily, without a doubt my favorite place in Los Angeles. I suggest everyone who decides to make the trip out there visits. Reasons why I think Griffith Park/Observatory is so amazing:
The Archietecture
This building is just brilliant!! And in 2002, it undertook a $93 million dollar project to fully renovate its structure, refurbishing the outside, and adding great additional underground levels that are just so awesome to visit when you get there.
Now, archetecture aside, one of the most rewarding experiences when traveling to the observatory is the grueling 25 minute hike you have to take to get there.
The Climb
It's even worse if you decide to go when the sun's out. ☀️ I took my mom during the time that the sun was starting to go down and she still almost passed out!!
Just kidding, she was a trooper! And by the time we made it to a nice altitude, we got to take a minute and enjoy some nice views.
Great times, thus this place is unforgettable ion making...
The Memories
I'm not a big selfie taking picture guy, but even I had to stop for a reminder of why life can be so beautiful. 🇱🇷
And of course I had to stop and pay my respects to my hero and longtime idol
Albert Einstein!
The History
Also, don't forget to stop by one of the FREE showings at the Leonard Nimoy theater downstairs. Over 200 films, tv shows, and music videos have been shot at the observatory.
What movies were filmed at the Griffith Observatory?
Beverly Hills, 90210. From episode 13, Season 3, "Rebel with a Cause".
The Terminator. Observatory. Where the terminator lands after coming back through time.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer. From episode 8, Season 5, "Shadow".
Transformers.
MacGyver. From episode 1, Season 1, "Pilot".
Rebel Without a Cause.
Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle.
The Rocketeer
Lawnmower Man 2: Beyond Cyberspace
So as you can see, there is much to offer at Griffith Park, best of all, it's free! 😁 And you know I love that! 😁
As always, thank you for your time, and Leonard Nimoy says thank you as well.
Live long, and prosper. 🖖🏽
