I've been thinking about it a lot too, and good thing Blender isn't on Github.
But I am heavily dependent on a lot of other open source apps, so Microsoft's acquisition is making me a bit concerned about the future of those apps I use.
I know it's too early to start being paranoid, so let's just wait and see. But, at least for Blender I have nothing to worry about.
