شراكة ستاربكس الجديدة مع مايكروسوفت تتيح للعملاء دفع ثمن قهوتهم المفضلة بالبتكوين

لحقت شركة القهوة العملاقة ستاربكس، التي تتخذ من مدينة سياتل مقراً لها، بالركب بعقدها شراكة جديدة مع مايكروسوفت لإطلاق منصة رقمية جديدة ستسمح للمستهلكين باستخدام عملة البتكوين وغيرها من العملات الرقمية في متاجر ستاربكس.

وتجمع الشراكة الجديدة كل من ستاربكس جنباً إلى جنب مع مايكروسوفت وبورصة (ICE) ومجموعة بوسطن الاستشارية (BCG)، من بين شركات أخرى، بهدف إطلاق شركة جديدة تسمى “Bakkt”. وستمكّن هذه الشركة المستهلكين والمؤسسات من شراء وبيع وتخزين العملات الرقمية على الشبكة العالمية بحلول شهر تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر. وستقوم المنصة بتحويل البتكوين والعملات الرقمية الأخرى إلى الدولار الأمريكي لاستخدامها لشراء المشروبات المختلفة أو أي غيرها من مقهى ستاربكس.

وقالت ماريا سميث، نائبة رئيس الشراكات والمدفوعات لشركة ستاربكسومن ناحية أخرى، فقد شكك البعض باستخدام العملات الرقمية في عمليات الدفع بسبب التقلب الكبير في الأسعار. فعلى سبيل المثال، انخفض سعر البتكوين بنسبة 50٪ تقريباً هذا العام، وغالباً ما تتغير قيمته بمئات الدولارات في يوم واحد. ولكن مع اتخاذ ستاربكس معاملات العملات الرقمية على محمل الجد، يمكن أن يسرع هذا عملية اعتبار البتكوين عملة رسمية. كما قد يتسبب هذا بارتفاع الأسعار التي جاهدت للعثور على دفعة قوية منذ نهاية عام 2017.

Starbucks' new partnership with Microsoft allows customers to pay for their favorite coffee with the best

Starbucks Inc., a Seattle-based coffee maker, has taken off with a new partnership with Microsoft to launch a new digital platform that will allow consumers to use the beta coin and other digital currencies at Starbucks.

The new partnership brings Starbucks together with Microsoft, ICE and the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), among others, to launch a new company called Bakkt. The company will enable consumers and institutions to buy, sell and store digital currency on the World Wide Web by November. The platform will convert the voucher and other digital currencies to the US dollar for use to buy different drinks or any other Starbucks coffee shop
On the other hand, some have questioned the use of digital currencies in payments because of the high volatility in prices. For example, the price of protein has dropped by about 50% this year, and it often changes in value by hundreds of dollars in one day. But with Starbucks taking digital currency transactions very seriously, this process could speed up the process of being considered a formal currency. This could also cause price hikes that have struggled to find a boost since the end of 2017.
