The Bitcoin Lightning Network for enabling speedy, cost-efficient and scalable transactions has attained a maximum capacity of more than 600 BTC, Newsbtc reported.
According to Newsbtc, the Bitfury Group- a crypto startup- will soon launch a slew of products and applications to accelerate the Bitcoin Lightning Network's path to commercial adoption.
The products and applications include "an open-source LN wallet, a hardware terminal, an e-commerce integration for merchants, and a suite of developer tools to build on the scaling system."
Lightning Network lists the below advantages of the payment platform:
Ultra-fast payments ranging from milliseconds to seconds
Highly scalable platform able to handle million to billions of transactions per second
Micropayments are viable due to exceptionally low fees
Cross-blockchain transactions possible as long as the same cryptographic hash function is supported
