Interested in Communities: Where to begin?

in partiko •  5 years ago

After another long break from Steemit, I'm interested in checking out the communities features.

Does anyone have tips or opinions to share?

TIA!

Pro-tip: Don't use Steemit.com anymore. There's a fair bit of drama revolving around the current individual / company that owns that site.

I would recommend using steempeak.com -- developed by a committed STEEM community member, and I'd say it's more feature-rich than steemit anyways.

You can check out various communities here: https://steempeak.com/communities -- or you can check out the EXHAUST community here: https://steempeak.com/c/hive-176853/created

Generally -- and I'm pretty new to it as well, so excuse me if I'm wrong -- Communities function very similarly to reddits "Subreddits". You can subscribe, and receive notifications, and create posts directly to communities, rather than your individual blog.

Give it a look!

and...

Welcome back!

Edit: In an effort to learn more about communities myself, I've 'cross-posted' this to the EXHAUST community I linked to above. It's essentially posting it a 2nd-time, but it also contributes some proceeds to the community, and whoever did the cross-post (in this case, @exhaust). You still keep 90% of the rewards from the cross-post though.

Will keep an eye on your feed, and hope to see some cool cycling content from you again!

Find ones that interest your hobbies. There's a Communities Announcement group that's worth joining, just to find others.
