Surya Namaskar is an ancient yoga technique and a is comprised of a set of 12 asanas ( postures).

Surya Namaskar can be done at any time of the day however best done early in the morning. It activates solar plexus which is called the second brain and is situated behind the navel. Expansion of solar plexus can make an individual creative and intuitive where as shrinking could cause depression and other illnesses.

Some of the benefits include improved circulation throughout the body (cardiovascular health), helps in losing weight, regulates menstruation, prevents ageing of skin and prevents hair loss to name some.

12 rounds of Surya Namaskar would burn around 150 calories, which is quite significant and can be achieved quickly.

Great tip. I've practiced yoga for about five years but never Surya Namaskar. I will search it, learn it and practice it in the morning. I don't think it will take long to do 12 repetitions.
