জীবন কি ??

আমি জীবনকে খুঁজি
জীবন কেমন ---
সারাদিন মোট বয়ে
যে শ্রমিক সন্ধ্যায় সামান্য
কিছু টাকার খাবার খেয়ে
তৃপ্তির ঢেকুর তুলে সুখ নিদ্রায় ঘুম যায়।
এটাই কি জীবন ?
রোদে পুড়ে বৃষ্টিতে ভিজে
যে কৃষক মাঠে ফসল ফলায়
অর্ধেক তুলে দেয় মহাজনের গোলায়,
কপালের ঘাম মুছতে মুছতে ঘরে ফেরে ।
এটাই কি জীবন ?
সারাদিন ধনীর ঘরে ভালো মন্দ
কুটনা কুটে রান্না করে,
বাসন মেজে কাপড় ধুয়ে
ঘরে ফিরে শুকনা রুটি আধপেটা খেয়ে
বাল বাচ্চা সাথে নিয়ে মশার কামড়ে
রাত পার করে অভাগিনি মা ।
এটাই কি জীবন ?
নাকি বিলাস বহুল বাড়ি, গাড়ি,
চাকর, নকর ভূরিভূরি সোনার গহনা
শাড়ী, চুড়ি দামি পালঙ্কে নিদ্রা ।
এটাই কি জীবন ?
তুমি বলতে পার কি মাধব ?
জীবন কি ?
জীবন কি শুধুই বেঁচে থাকা ??
