I'm not very impressed by that. Is "vote-for-vote" the way to build anything for the Steem community, as it's meant only to pat each others backs with no regards on the posts themselves?

I personally would say yes a vote for a vote is the right way to build a steem community. Is putting all content creators into the same group because some abuse the system correct? The answer is no whichever system you use around the world a few will abuse it but why should the majority suffer because of the few? It gives a way for those that use it to earn a little bit every day which could potentially lead to better content overall. Just think how many good content creators left steem over the years because they weren't making anything or very little.

Vote for vote gives no appreciation on quality, only to the fact someone is voting back. Vote-for-vote doesn't support good content creators in any special way. Shit content creators get voted just as much as the amazing ones.
Vote-for-vote is one of the best ways to show everyone that Steem doesn't work.

But you are tanning everyone with the same brush surely that's not the right thing to do? Also, let's be quite frank that there have been some amazing content creators who have left steem because they were making nothing. We desperately need to get out of that concept and start helping others on steem if steem is to survive. There are too many people on here that won't help others. I believe strongly in the vote to vote system because for every 1 person that abuses the system most likely there be 10 that will make good content and those are the ones I care about supporting.

If you would want to support content creators you could join a real curation trail. Now it's just hanging in a trail hoping to get votes for yourself.
You can't pretend your will to get personal gain would be to help anyone. But as is said, everyone does what they want. People can choose to use their power for personal gain if they want.

This is a real curation trail haha. I don't see any of the members complaining only you. If it's not for you fine leave nobody here is forcing you to take part. Just because I want to earn a little as well as help others how exactly is that a bad thing lol. Mate give up if it's not for you leave nobody is forcing you to take part. As of yet, I have not seen 1 member complaint everyone is helping everyone and everyone is happy.
