Hi there, @jgurvitz! I'd like to help you get started if I can. Steem takes a little getting used to, and I feel the effort is well worth it.

First, I am not a bot. A fair number of the friendly comments you will get early on are automated bots. They might be put in place by communities that can help you get started, or they might be trying to sell you something. I am neither. I found your profile through the post of your friend @distantsignal.

I noticed you have not powered up any STEEM, and as far as I know there is no way to do that directly through Partiko. I have two suggestions to get you past the early learning curve:

1. Visit https://steemit.com/@steemitblackbelt/your-first-week-on-the-steem-blockchain
   If you find the first lesson helpful, please consider leaving a comment and following the page - but don't bother to upvote as the lesson is too old to benefit from further upvotes. I started the project some time ago to address the fact that Steem is not like any other system, and takes a while to understand. I've been meaning to add the next lesson for some time, so maybe you'll give me a reason.

2. If you use the discord app, look up Steem Terminal. Their project is a hub for information and helpful people/communities that can help you get started on Steem. If you don't use discord already, I highly recommend that you try it out. I avoided it for a long time, not wanting to learn another new platform, but in doing so I missed out on the chance to get help and make connections with the many communities helping people learn and grow their Steem accounts.
