As a young boy growing up from a rural community in A state in Nigeria, I have always believe that nothing is impossible, I have always created this believe that I can never be lacking in my ability to achieve my dreams except the ones that are out of my
And it was the independent celebration of my great country Nigeria, I was chosen to participate in the March pass. During every National occasion, all the government own school gathers to showcase there matching skills, and my school wasn't left behind.
I was among the students chosen to represent my school at the Local government headquarters, the match pass is expected to be a day occasion.
I was so happy to be finally living the community where I was born, I have never left or gone elsewhere, his was the only opportunity I had to ever live my home town
As the day approaches I was so nervous, I have never been on a car or a vehicle before, as a normal 9year old boy, I had friends who also wanted this opportunity, but they weren't chosen,
It was 1st October 2004, I woke up, dressed up and wore my uniform which was cleaned and ironed by my Aunt, I was the first student who came out to wait for the transportation, I waited until the others started arriving, after 2hours of waiting, it was about 8 am , and finally the bus arrived,
At the arrival, we noticed that the bus was small and cannot occupy all of us, I hoped to be among the once that it would contain, after some delegation between the driver and our teachers, I was left out of the chosen once, I was left out, I cried all my tears out I never felt so left out and all my opportunity to travel all shattered
Looking back to this experience, I was passionate to represent my school, and to celebrate my country's independence day, but I wasn't skilled enough to participate, to be chosen and the to make the cut off
Morally passion is not enough, but passion with desire + action is what get you there.
Believe with determination and strength all dreams come true
