According to a recent report from sam mobile, Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung has filed a patent which explores palm scanning as a viable means to recover forgotten passwords. The company believes that a person's palm can be used to help them remember their password by hiding the hint in the scattered lines.
The patent details the use of the front camera on a smartphone to take a picture of the user's palm and then verify their identity using the stored palm prints. Unlike Samsung a iris and fingerprint scanner, the palm scanning method will only be used to ensure that the user requesting for a password reset is the owner of the device.
