Finding my Feet in Steem

How does a newcomer begin to get her head around the very "cryptic" Block-Chain Crypto Mentality? Where is the entrance to this different world? Yesterday I watched a very cute youtube called "Block-Chain for Dummies" with all these people telling the one next to them what their favourite colour is. That made sense, but how do you get to be part of that chain - by writing a post like this? And who are all the other people in that chain? Where do they live, what are they interested in? It's as if I'm peering through the steam and don't know whether I can see anything through it.
That reminds me of a travel I once went on - to New Zealand. One of the places we went to was called Craters of the Moon. It was a strange landscape, with steam coming out of the ground like this: NZ 014.JPG It had an "otherworldly" feel about it. Craters there were, some of them deep and dangerous and you didn't want to go to near the edge because if you lost your balance and tumbled in there, there was no getting out again.....Patzini 2 296.JPG But one thing about that Steamy Landscape was very different from a moon landscape. It was green. There were small curly green ferns growing everywhere: ![Patzini 2 299.JPG] ().NZ 012.JPG In spite of the heat coming through the earth, and the steam billowing up in clouds, there was a whole ecosystem flourishing there, inbetween the steam. So, perhaps for Steemit, you'll just have to pick your way very carefully between the ferns and the craters until you see your way through the steem?

Hi @patmac and welcome ;) A good place to start is with an introduceyourself (that's the tag) post. You can gave up to five relevant tags on posts, so pick whichever others are also appropriate.

Otherwise, just browse whatever sections you're interested in and start chatting to people via their posts. You'll quickly find your feet 🙂

Thank you holothewise!!!How can I find your post when you introduced yourself? Just click on your icon?

Hey, mine's not a great example. Check out the trending posts under the 'introduceyourself' tag and you should see some good ones ;)
