From Patriot SSDs ever faster, but also with LEDs

The SSD sector has been characterized by two innovations in a while by all the manufacturers involved: the implementation of RGB LED lighting in some gamer models and the most passionate, along with the development of PCI Express 4.0 interface-based solutions.
Patriot, with its range of Viper solutions, is one of these manufacturers: the picture shows the new model combining Phison E16 controllers with PCI Express 4.0 interface, with 4 lines offering high data transmission speed. The result is sequential data reading speeds of just under 5,000 MB / s, up to 4,000 MB / s write data. Patriot offers 512 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB capacity for these models: availability expected from the third quarter of 2019, with prices not yet disclosed.

A hardware platform compatible with this interface is obviously needed to take full advantage of the PCI Express 4.0 SSDs: the wait is therefore for the AMD Ryzen 3000 processors as well as the AMD X570 chipset-based motherboards, the latter shown in large quantities by various manufacturers at Computex. Instead, you can get an SSD with RGB LED lighting right away: a purely aesthetic feature that consumers seem to be increasingly looking for. Or at least that's what the producers are hoping for in order to better segment their product offers on the market.
