Greetings and welcome to my blog. Am glad to be a part of this learning process for season 21. Thank you @lunarsilver for the opportunity and for the teaching.
Class activity #1
Task 1
Make a post of 200 words or more, where you show with your own images, how you take the measurements of your model. Describe the step by step. |
---|
My model is male and am taking a measurement of him for a shirt and the pants and these are the procedures for the measurement. These measurements were based on my models choices as to how he wants his clothes fitted. The measurement is in inches.
Shirt measurement taking
Chest circumference:
I measured the chest circumference which is round the chest region to the back and it was 40 inches.
Neck circumference:
The neck circumference is the measurement round the neck. It should not be too long to avoid being loose or too short to avoid tightness. It’s 16 inches.
Back width:
This is the measurement from left to right of the shoulder and it’s 17 inches.
Shirt length:
I took the measurement from the neckline down to the desired length the model wants and it’s 29 inches.
Short sleeve length and Long sleeve length:
The short sleeve length is 10 and the long sleeve length from the shoulder to the wrist is 26 inches.
Arm circumference/bicep:
The measurement around the arm and it’s 16 inches.
Arm length and Cuff circumference:
The measurements from shoulder to wrist and arm circumference is that measurement round wrist. It’s 26 inches and 10inches respectively.
The trouser measurement taking
Waist and Length (out seam):
The waist is the measurement of the circumference round the waist and the measurement from waist to the ankle and it’s 33 and 39 inches respectively.
Hip measurement:
Measure round the hip to the glutus. This had to be free in a way that he can sit down without it being tight. It’s 39 inches.
Thigh:
The measurements around the thigh under the crotch is 25 inches.
Half length and waist to calve:
The measurement from the waist to the knee and waist to calve is 21 and 27 inches.
In seam length:
I measured from under the crotch curve to the ankle which is 28 inches.
Calve and Ankle:
The calve is the protruding part on the back of the legs and this differs in people hence I had to measure it to ensure the pant is not right around that area and the circumference around the ankle and it was 16 and 14 inches respectively.
What is your reason for learning in this season 21 of the new Steemit Learning Challengers (SLC)? |
---|
The steemit season 21 poses a lot of learning to offer from the different courses that are being offered. I have been wanting to improve my learning on cloth making especially Men’s clothing and I saw this class and decided that this would be an opportunity to learn.
Thank you reading through. I ask @wendy50, @Lewis-write, and @vickyson to participate in this challenge.
