All About Grapevine

If you are in Grapevine, Texas especially if you have never been to Texas before you have to stop at the Texas General Store. It is located on Historic Main St at 406 S Main St Grapevine, TX 76051. It's a Texas themed store with gifts, apparel, decor, and food items that are made in Texas or have a “Texas flair”! You might ask why would I go there... well you will find great souvenirs with a Texas vibe! But, wait... check this out.

They have ribbons! Not your everyday Participation Award... they have on hand #WorstPlace Ribbons!

They also have several other items you can check out:

Simply put they are different than your ordinary store that has souvenirs. They also have a sense of humor. It's a fun place for everyone... the reviews on Yelp, Facebook & Google are great so you know they will take care of you. Here is just one of those reviews "First time in TX, and this place was a one stop shop for us!! And the people were INCREDIBLE! So hospitable, kind and FUN! Showed us around the store - LOVE that everything is made in TX! We took home some incredible finds! Fun TX toys for the kids, pickled foods, and Bloody Mary mixes so we can savor the flavor of TX, all the way in Oregon! This store is a must! Hope to make it there again someday!! Oh Texas! You were a blast! Until next time!!!"

Here is a little history on the store:

The store was established in 2014. Built in 1857, the Olympia Confectionary was owned by CS & Frank Rainwater. Silent films were shown here in the early days. They later added a soda fountain where teenagers met for ice cream and cokes. In the late 1940s it became City Drug, owned by Roy Chambers. The City Drug sign is still displayed outside.

Paul what I really like is the old style country stores that have a little of everything. You can always find something you have never seen before.

Yes I agree... this is a very interesting store indeed... they have a machine to emboss a penny as well! Depending when you go they have different options.

A ribbon just for "ate a vegetable?" That's awesome! I usually stay farther east when travelling across Texas these days, but I might have to head back through that area next time!

Well if you do let me know! It's a small town in the middle of the metroplex. :)
