CHRISTMAS DONATION !!! 500 STEEM !!!

in payitforward •  6 years ago  (edited)

Sometimes it feels like time shoots by like a rocket. It only seems like yesterday that we had Christmas 2017 and now Santa and his elves are knocking on the door already.

This year has been a roller-coaster for me. I went through a number of life changing moments, serious health issues and irreversible decisions that I would prefer to take back. I managed to go through all this thanks to the support of my amazing husband, family and friends.

I'm telling you all this because I consider YOU being my family and friends too!

Over the last 6 months I have received tremendous support from so many of you and I would like to say THANK YOU for being so kind to me. THANK YOU for all your words of encouragement, for time that you spent reading my posts and for your upvotes. THANK YOU for being here for me.

In order to give back to the community and in the spirit of upcoming Christmas holidays I would like to donate !!! 500 STEEM !!! for a good cause and I would like to do it by way of funding a project for those in need.

And I need your help

Do you know anyone who leads a project supporting people or animals in need? Or do you know about a project that deserve additional funding in your opinion?

PLEASE nominate that leader/project in the comment section below this post.

  • Tell me some details about the project that you nominate and why you think that exactly this project deserves the donation in no less than 30 and no more than 100 words.

  • Each one of you can nominate ONE leader/project.

  • The only rule for you to be able to participate in the nominations is to be honest and follow the Christmas spirit principle.

  • It is also important that the project or the leader of the project have a Steemit account.

I will check all your nominations and learn about their activities.

I am planning to support one project BUT together we might be able to support more of them!

Do you like the idea and would you like to join me?

Feel free to send me as many STEEM as you want. I will list all donations from you and add them to mine. In the interest of full transparency. I will post a list of all donations next week on Sunday. After that I will contact all of you and agree with you which projects we will support (the decision process depends on how much STEEM will be available for donations). I plan to send STEEM to the project/projects on the 16th of December.

If you like this initiative, please resteem this post so that more Steemians see it and we increase our chance of higher donation amount. I will be grateful for your upvotes as well 😊

Thank you for reading,

Cheers,
Martina

I have resteemed this!! WOW!!! You sweet Angel You!!!!!!!!

What a happy feeling I have inside right now XOXOXOXXX

Thank you Lyndsay! Happy to make you feel happy ;)

EDIT: Say hello to that sweet bot army of FTG ;)

HAhaa sure! Hi @fulltimebot1, @fulltimebot2, @fulltimebot3,- 99 hahahaa @delso, @fulltimeangel, @fulltime lolololol this is taking too long!

Hahaha, you're crazy! ❤❤❤

This funding opportunity you’re offering is unbelievably charitable. What a great heart you have for others!

@tarc is my 501c3 U.S.-based animal rescue located in Central Appalachia. This is one of the poorest regions in the nation and instead of support from the community, we often receive hostility. During our five-year run here in Southwest Virginia, we’ve saved the lives of nearly 700 dogs and have influenced the community’s mindset about its treatment of animals. Please consider us for your generous donation! We’ll put it to good use and you can follow our progress through Steemit blog updates.

I would like to support this nomination with two thumbs up. @tarc does amazing work. I have visited the shelter and am so amazed by the number of animals they care for on a very limited budget. It’s a great organization that is involved in activism for the well-being of dogs throughout Applalachia. Thank you for extending your generosity to an animal-related cause.

Thank you for your support of @tarc. I will take it into consideration :)

Thank you for your nomination! It's been accepted. I apologize that it took me so long to get back to you but because of the upvotes it got lost between other comments.

I don't have a cause in my mind right now, but i do know there are many many of them out there... So I will help to spread the word Martina... You are amazing, simply and utterly amazing! Great job here :)

You still have one week so if you decide to nominate one, please feel free :) don't be too nice to me as I'll start blushing ;)

This is very generous of you @delishtreats.

I wonder if you would consider donating to @adollaraday.

This is a steem based charitable given project that began in May and has so far donated US$4000 to around 20 very worthy projects around the world that have a presence on the steem blockchain.

The project works by inviting steemians to donate 1 SBD per day, for as many days as they want. These donations are then pooled together to make larger daily donations to a range of supported projects around the world.

Projects supported by A Dollar A Day so far include @schoolforsdg4, @thegreens, @bettervision, @gtpjfoodbank, @scholarsph, @walkofhope, @creativestreet, @littledisciples...

I had set a target to donate $5000 by the end of the year but with the recent drop in steem, projections are now that we will fall short by about $300 - $400.

The link in the signature will take you to the October summary report of donations for more information. The November report will be published in the next day or two.

If you would like any more information please contact Pennsif#9921 on Discord.

Thank you.

The A Dollar A Day charitable giving project.

Thank you! Your nomination has been accepted.

@thegreens is a beneficiary of @adollaraday donations and if i start to say how much impact we have been able to create with support from @adollaraday, it will be an entire blog post. I just wanted to use this opportunity to support the nomination of @adollaraday and if you want me to give further details, i will. Thanks for choosing to support change-makers @delishtreats.

Thank you for supporting this nomination. I will be looking at all projects in details next week and I may reach out to you in case I need any further details.

Have a nice day! :)

What an awesome gift for someone! I'd like to nominate a person who likely cannot receive the award. I don't know that he has a steemit account, although I belive that @arbitrarykitten could find a way to get the gift to him.

Anyway, I'd like to nominate Shannon Jay for his work in rescuing animals abandoned during the Paradise, California fire. He has been searching through the destroyed town and coaxing frightened, burnt animals into his arms. He feeds them and gets them the care they need, then he helps them find their people. It is noble, thankless work for the most part, and I'd love to see him be rewarded for his efforts.

Ok, so there it is. All 72 words of it in between the lines. :-)

Thank you for your nomination, Jen! It's been accepted. In case that the donation would be sent to him, we would find a way.

This man definitely deserves some rewards for his effort. I love what he is doing as those poor animals must be frightened, hurt and they can't help themselves so there is no reason why he couldn't receive this award :)

This is a beautiful initiative! You are truly a blessing @martina <3

Shannon is not on Steemit (yet- however I introduced him to the platform and if I have my way he will be a wonderful addition to the community in the very near future when things slow down!) 😁

I operate a rescue home for severely burned and abused cats and kittens, and although I'm stationed in WA state and Shannon in CA, we will be figuring out a way to combine our labors of love- forces joined equal great power! I have several other home rescues combining resources and networking for a project that will be educating high schoolers on fostering abused and discarded pets (possibly granting them school credits as well) and Shannon's unique perspective, combined with his in depth field perfected lost-cat finding techniques make him a treasured commodity for the project!

He's a humble and amazing soul- if you get a chance drop him a message on Facebook (I put the link to his page in the Fire Cat Rescue post) and say hi!

Shannon Jay definitely deserves @mattifer s nomination, and I second it!

Thank you so much for offering this generous blessing! I hope this Christmas season is full of wonder and beauty for you and yours 🌟. Be Blessed.

Thank you for your contribution. You are operating some great projects! It must be very difficult to see all those hurt cats and kittens and I can imagine it must take a lot of time for them to gain trust in you. I also like your project about educating high schoolers. It is so important to teach children to be compassionate and I'm happy to hear that you will be working on that.

With my husband we support projects helping animals in different countries around the globe as many people often forget that they need our help too.

Thank you for confirming Jen's nomination! Can you please send me the link to your post so that I know exactly which one I should check to get his Facebook account?

Have a nice day!

Oh man, you guys are all awesome! Here's the link to @arbitrarykitten's post: https://steemit.com/life/@arbitrarykitten/fire-cat-rescue

Here's the link to Shannon's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/shannon.jay.52

And here's the link to his GoGundMe in case you want that too: https://www.gofundme.com/butte-county-fire-cat-rescue

I love to see people doing such great work, and it's even better when community comes around to support them. :-)

Thank you Jen! I will check them all out :)

You're welcome. I just checked out his facebook page. It looks like the powers that be are trying to stop people like him from doing his good work. I don't know why it happens like that here, but it seems as though after every disaster our government steps in and tries to stop private individuals from doing their own good deeds. It's strange. I'm sure he won't quit though. :-)

I was in a similar situation doing disaster relief after a major hurricane. I was part of a free kitchen that was serving over 1,000 meals each day for free. We met all the health code standards for food safety, but the government kept trying to chase us out and shut us down. I guess they make lots of money off doing this themselves, and they don't like to see people making it work without them. Grrr.....

Couldn't it be for the safety reasons? I'm not sure how it looks like there but I can imagine that he needs to crawl under different items, or enter some unstable objects to save them? I don't know.. I'm not on the government side, just trying to understand why this is happening :)

That sounds so unfair! Sometimes I feel like governments don't like to support their own people. If they make money doing it themselves, it's ok. But the problem is that they mainly don't do it at all :)

I don't know on particularly or am involved with but I do know @rhondak on steemit does TONS of work with animal shelters somewhere in the US.

Thank you, @goldendawne! Yes, @tarc is a U.S. 501c3 nonprofit involved in hands-on dog rescue and animal welfare activism. You can see our Steem blog here.

This is awesome!!
I nominate @schoolforsdg4. They run a school for impoverished kids in Bangladesh. In addition to the actual education, they also have a weekly fruits program that they fundraise for on the blockchain, to try and help make sure the kids get some nutritious food while they are at school. Recently they also fundraised for backpacks for kids who didn't have them.

Thank you for your nomination. It's been accepted. Apologies for taking it too long to get back to you.

No worries at all! Thank you for your generosity!

I would like to nominate @tarc, an animal shelter ran by @rhondak . With steem funding she pays the staff and makes sure that the dogs get spayed/neutered and sent to forever homes.

Let the doggies have a merry Xmas as well

Resteeming!

Thank you, @karinxxl! Gosh, yes--what a wonderful Christmas present this would be!

You have a great support on Steemit @rhondak :)

People here have been awesome to us. The support of Steem communities are the only reason this rescue is still in operation.

Would be totally deserved miss Rhonda, what you guys remain to keep doing...it deserves a lot of love!

You are making me get all teary-eyed. Thank you for this!

This really seems to be a great project as there are more people nominating/supporting it. Thank you Karin!

And as they should @delishtreats

I was the proud owner of a rescue dog from a non profit organisation as well..All of these causes deserve all the help they can get

This is a really really great idea. Can I nominate @walkofhope? They work tirelessly to bring Music and Arts to the less fortunate in Visayas and Mindanao in the Philippines, but also help create livelihoods through workshops and crafts etc. I love @immarojas and she's a great Steemian. There's quite a few great charities here and it's hard to choose! That's such a lovely Christmassy thing to do xx

oh thanks River..lemme check this😘😘

Thank you! Your nomination has been accepted.

Amazing!!!! 💚💚💚💚

Hi..thank you for this initiative.
Can i nominate @creativestreet? Although this is a new account, this group have been very active since last year in giving art lessons to the street kids in Manila and Tagaytay where Gini (@aalagenesis) resides. She heads this group and joining them in one of their event last May, i must say that her group is very passionate in what they do. Throw in some feeding and art materials as gifts when funds allow, all art materials were funded from donations and fundraising efforts, including sales of Gini's artworks. Sharing her talent and passion to those who are less fortunate kids is touching and remarkable.

Kudos to us all. Enjoy the coming holiday season!

Thank you! Your nomination has been accepted.

Am glad thanks, have fun!

Wow thank you po Ms @immarojas

Hoping to see you soon

Welcome Gini...hope so but still in Ilocos. Enjoy sa saturday😉😄😘

WOAH @delishtreats ! This is amazingly generous <3 You are wonderful ! Simply wonderful !

As for initiatives, I guess I have to say the #hayrunners project would deserve at least a look, they are all about helping farmers coping with a severe drought this year... you can check out @bmj 's post or @scooter77 's post to find out more.

Also @frejafri is trying to put together a wonderful eco-friendly village

And I'll be back with more when I see awesome projects that would be worth your consideration :)

Thank you spider :) I'm glad that you like the initiative :)

BUT you will have to settle at one nomination. I had to include this in the rules as otherwise everyone would nominate many projects and I would not be able to select any of them. Just take your time and come back here once you decide which one is the one that you think should receive this donation.

I hope you had a good day at work and I wish you a very nice evening :) (it's 9 AM here though :D)

Then, I think the #hayrunners project should get the charity ! They are doing real great work that would affect a lot of real farmers' lives ! :D

Thank you for your nomination :) You are actually the sweetest spider that I know ;)

dont tell the other spiders !!! /o\

Thank YOU for being so awesome <333333333333

hahahah, I won't :D My husband is growing a few of them in a few corners of our apartment. He doesn't let me to release them as he is claiming that it's too cold outside and they will spend the winter with us :D I'm not sure how long I can keep up with this idea though :D

I just believe that good attracts good and I hope that there will be more Steemians who would like to add to the donation so that we can support more than just one project :)

Thanks for thinking of #hayrunners, @veryspider. We need all the help we can get to rach our goal of sponsoring fuel for a truck load of hay to help out the farmers suffering in the Australian Outback drought areas. So many worthy causes out there, not an easy choice to make.

It looks like a great project that you're running.

I agree with you. There are so many good causes that need some support. I hope that there will be more people who would like to add to the donation and that we will be able to support more than just one of them.

Very awesome!!
i haven't checked or read anything recently..... so not an official entry.

But i believe @ophumanangels #ophumanangels is by or partly by @lyndsaybowes and does some amazing work!

Thx

The tag has been pretty quiet lately. OHA is basically a random acts of kindness project that many people participate in (and yes, it was started by the awesome @lyndsaybowes). So if you wanted to fund ops, we might use it for a variety of things; supplies to leave messages of love for people to find, feeding homeless people, etc. It tends to be domino-like, when a handful of people get posts out, it inspires more, and then we're rolling. Last year it was hopping every week! Lately though it's been more sporadic - partially because a bunch of the participants stopped being active on Steemit at all. But I still chalk or litterwalk some, @davedickeyyall still gives random acts of cannabis and recently bought a woman a PLANE TICKET so she could make it home for a funeral, etc.

I'll wait for your official entry then :)

What a wonderful gift you are going to give someone!! I will have to think on who I would like to nominate. I just powered up, but I may have at least a little Steem to add to the pot. Slowly but surely I am getting into the Christmas spirit. This definitely makes me happy as this is what the season is all about!! 🤗

Thank you Katie! Take your time :) There is still one week for you to decide.

That would be so nice from you to add something to the pot :)

Me too! Every December I'm looking at my yearly donations. As I'm so active on Steemit for the last 6 months I thought it would be nice to add a project from here to my list :)

Giving makes me much more happy than receiving ;)

I nominate @pifc and the Pay it Forward Curation Contest.

As you know, this project is far more than a simple contest. It's a community which helps undervalued bloggers throughout Steemit.

The project supports dozens of bloggers every week already! 500 Steem would give PIFC the ability to give better rewards to all the deserving bloggers who are featured by those who enter the contest.

This is an amazing thing you are doing, I hope you get plenty of help on the way!

Thank you for the nomination! It's been accepted.

It's important to me and my husband that we share our wealth (I'm not saying we are wealthy but we still have a shelter, food and clothes which in many places is a luxury). Every year we donate certain percentage of our income to different causes. As I'm so active on the platform I thought to include one project here as well :) So far I have received some great nominations (yours included!) :)

Have a lovely start of the week!

You're plain crazy :O :O The biggest whales here don't do such big giveaways! A hope karma or whatever takes care of us will give it back to you in that real-life project of yours ;) and to my nomination..shit, I have to switch to PC for this hah :D Will edit in the nomination soon, I'm out now.

Edit: Hmmm I thought about donating those 500 STEEM to @cleanplanet. But I just realized that for them it wouldn't make such a big difference compared to other tiny projects people are suggesting here. Sooo yeah. I guess I'm withdrawing my suggestion from the pool right away. Maybe if my vote would be considered, I'm familiar with @adollaraday project and they're doing amazing job and are very transparent about it. Sooo my suggestion goes for @adollaraday :)

I like to say that it's important to start from oneself and I'm sure that good will attract good :)

I'm looking forward to your nomination :)

wooooaaa that's really super, mega, generous! 500 is no joke, I hope it goes to someone or an animal who really needs this!

I hope there will be some great nominations :) I'm not looking forward to deciding who should get it as it's going to be hard but I hope that more people will follow the initiative and then we will decide together :)

I don't know right now but I resteemed so maybe somebody else will. My own projects are about arts or ... higher levels of the Maslow's pyramid, not basic needs so I wouldn't like to interfere.

I would consider projects about natural and sustainable ways of life, helping Nature help us, things like that. As you said... there's still almost a week ;)

Thank you for your support, Manol.

If you find any project that you like, don't hesitate to put it here. I like what kind of projects you would consider ;)

What a great initiative and sorry that 2018 has been a challenging year for and your health. I have only known you a short time but your support on my posts has been warmly felt so I hope all the best for your health.

As for the charity, well, I don't have one in mind in terms of Steemit as I'm still learning about just how vast this platform is with all the different projects. Outside of this, there are a few charities that spring to mind - Alzheimer's Society, Mind, The Stroke Association and Cancer Research - which are all conditions that have affected me or my family in the past.

Keep up the positive vibes!

Thank you for your kind words Nicky. Your music is SO good! And I'm glad that you started to receive the support that you deserve.

I am sorry to hear that there were/are such disasters in your family. I know about these charities but I prefer to support smaller project where such amount can make a difference :)

If you would come across a cause on Steemit that you think deserves the donation, let me know :)

Thank you for your kind words Nicky. Your music is SO good! And I'm glad that you started to receive the support that you deserve.

Well thank YOU for the kind words of encouragement also :)

I am sorry to hear that there were/are such disasters in your family. I know about these charities but I prefer to support smaller project where such amount can make a difference :)

I appreciate the sentiment about smaller charities where the money would "travel further" so to speak because with big corporations, you never really know where those funds go fully but you'd like to think it all goes in to investing research to find the cure.

If you would come across a cause on Steemit that you think deserves the donation, let me know :)

I'll be sure to do just that if I find one!

There is no better Christmas celebration than giving your heart away and helping the needy. And you got that heart with this great idea of reaching out!

I would like to nominate @scholarsph for their great initiative and effort in sending less privileged youth to school. It is a project being run by @tagalogtrail. They started in August and already have the 7th scholar which tells me the project is really focused on sending more and more less privileged but deserving students to have a better future.

Thank you for your initiative and may you have a blessed Christmas!

Thank you for your kind words and for your nomination! It's been accepted :)

Thank you. 😊

What an awesome initiative! The Steem Communit is a force to be reconned with!! Congratulations on pulling through so many obstacles this past year. And, for finishing off this year on such a high note. I hope this is very successful initiative 🎶💜🎶❤🎶

Thank you for your kind words and for your donation ;) Cheers to a better year next year ;)

Nominate charity: water

  • Because access to safe and clean water should be every human’s right
  • 1 person in 10 on the planet lacks said access. It means that 663 million people have no choice but to drink dirty water, which leads to disease and sometimes death (especially in small children)
  • Because 100% of the donations the charity receives goes into projects on the ground, while private donors cover operating and administrative expenses
  • The charity has a solid track-record, with almost 30,000 local projects realised in the past 10 years. Each project was properly documented and followed-up on.

Thank you for your nomination Oleg! It's been accepted!

It's such a great cause. We very often forget how luxurious our lives are and that there are people who don't even have things to cover the basic needs of a human...

Great idea. I know @rhondak and @tygertyger run animal sanctuaries. And they are both great steemians too

...

Thank you! I hope that they will come over and nominate their projects :)

So we can nominate our own? Oh, my! I didn't know this! I did mention our account in a reply to Goldendawne, but I'll make a separate comment now. Thank you, @felt.buzz, for thinking of us!

Dearest @delishtreats, i don't have nominations but i would like to tell you how your post put smile on my face and in my heart. Thank you for this beautiful acts, it brings real spirit of christmas (sharing). May god bless you and your family. Have a wonderful christmas. Xx

Voted and re-steemed :)

Thank you for your kind words @sherylneil :) I'm glad that it made you feel so good :) This is what Christmas is about and personally I prefer giving to getting :)

Have a wonderful Christmas too!

Thank you for your support!

What a great pay it forward idea. I remember christmas 2017 too. Where crypto was king for the month... if only we sold then we would be 50k better off. Hindsight is a grand but useless thing haha... fingers crossed for a better 2019. And good luck picking your winner.

We learnt something😂🤣😄
Perhaps a repeat of it may happen even if not so soon?

I have my fingers crossed and money still invested so never say never

After the bear is a bull...the roller-coaster ride in crypto. I hope soon though.

I think there are many that hope the same.

Too many to count..bull run pls soon!

I wasn't around last year but I've heard about those golden times :) Let's hope that we will be able to experience such period soon again :)

Thank you for your support!

It was golden lol, we were only in it for a month before it went the opposite way so was short lived but we invested with a 5 year plan so will see who is left standing then, until then we are balancing around 50% loss but we knew that was a possibility going in.

That is an amazing gesture. I would love to nominate @drutter's campaign to buy a water pump for a Venezuelan steemian named @victorgonzales. There are many worthy causes but this one would provide water security for a family and the surrounding community..

Even though there is a rule of at least 30 words for describing why you believe that the project deserve the donation I would accept your nomination as there is not much to say about this particular cause.

But when I click on the account I get a message that the page doesn't exist. Can you check it?

Sorry, I'll check and fix my entry when I get home from work later.

Posted using Partiko Android

Sure, no worries. You have enough time to do so :) Have a successful day at work :)

I nominate someone who is not on Steemit, but deserves all the help this community can offer.

His name is Ramses, and he is 9 years old. He was diagnosed with leukemia early this summer.

ramses color.jpg

I was lucky to meet this little angel recently. I decided to do a documentary project about him, and after a few visits I fell in love.

Ramses lives with his family in a poor and dangerous neighbourhood in Caracas - sadly, his father was killed by a stray bullet here when Ramses was only two. He has a little 4 year old brother, a beautiful mother and an awesome step-dad who love him.

In May he started feeling weak, with high fevers. His mom, taking him to several hospitals, was told he had hepatitis. Ramses and his family had no idea how their lives were about to change.

ramses 4.jpg

There were 10 other kids in his situation when he started chemotherapy. Since then, 8 of them have already died. Having leukemia is awful anywhere, but is worse in Venezuela today, where medicines are expensive and hard to find, even if you aren't as poor as Ramses' family, who are sacrificing everything they can to see that he gets the treatment he needs (even taking his younger brother out of school to save money). They were able to afford the first 3 months of his chemo with the help of a foundation that donated his treatment, and he is receiving a small dose of chemotherapy once a week (though the past 2 weeks he has been too weak to receive the treatment due to low blood values).

This family eats only once a day, and it breaks my heart because a 9 year old kid undergoing such a strong treatment needs food to be healthy enough to overcome all the side effects of the chemo.

ramses.jpg

I visit 3 to 4 times a week, taking them food, toys, medicines and tons of hugs and play time. Trust me, if I had the money I would give it without hesitating. The pills he needs in order to start treatment in January are about $600 (inflation in Venezuela changes the prices daily). I was sitting at my computer thinking of ways to help him when I came across your post.

If you choose to support Ramses, I would change the Steem to bolivares and have it transferred directly to his mom's account (I have photos of his prescriptions and receipts if you need them). Needless to say, any help you can offer will mean the world to this family.

P.S: Sorry I went over 100 words. I've been planning to make a blog post for him but was waiting for the creation of their Gofundme, so I thought it best to give you more

YEAH SUPER RAMSES!

I second this nomination. Gaby has told me about this kid and I've been following him on Instagram. It's so sad to see anyone so young battling cancer, but he seems to have a great attitude through it all and I wish I could do more to support his fight.

Hey, @delishtreats, what you're doing here is purposeful and inspiring and I thank you! This post is a wonderful example of the great things that can come out of the community built around Steem. Love it. Again, thank you.

Hello Derek, thank you for your kind words! It's my pleasure :) It breaks my heart to hear about this little boy suffering so much. Kids should play with their friends and not spend time in hospitals..

Can you please give me his IG account so that I can check it out?

Hey! I totally forgot to give you his instagram :) I always post stories with him and mention his account. You can contact his mother personally if you want, I can translate what you say. I think the person that manages his instagram is his aunt because they don't have a phone that handles instagram. Anyway this is his account.

https://www.instagram.com/ayudemosaramses/

Oops, I was beaten to it! :)

Thank you for the nomination Gaby! 100 words wouldn't be enough to describe it, so no worries :) Your nomination has been accepted!

I would like to nominate #hayrunners in place of @veryspider, which I have already donated a raffle prize for. For the hayrunners initiative @bmj or @scooter77 can be contacted. I don't envy the decision you will be making here.

Thanks for the nomination @gmatthe2. Every bit helps, and thanks for your donation towards the raffle.

Hahaha, this is a good strategy :) I hope that spider will come with another cause.

Thank you for the nomination! BUT it's important to me to know from you why YOU think that they should receive the donation. This should be done in no less than 30 and no more than 100 words (as per my post) - this word count can include some details about the project too.

I have lived in a semi rural area of Australia which was blessed with rain during a drought time and what you would see were the lucky cows that had been transported across the country being slowly led up the quieter roads so that they could eat the grass. Seeing these half starved creatures really brought it home to me that our lucky country sometimes needs that extra effort to keep it lucky. Hayrunners is to provide the money for hay and fuel for volunteers to truck it into the driest areas where it is desperately needed.

Thank you for your contribution. Your nomination has been accepted.

I know what you mean... we went to Sardinia a few years ago and the summer there was very dry as well. Seeing those poor animals brought tears in my eyes..

Thank you. Regardless of which cause you choose to support thank you for your selflessness and your generosity.

I'm blessed to have everything that I need for comfortable life. I'm not saying I live in luxury but I know that there are so many people who are not as lucky as I am. And this is the least I can do.. good attracts good and I can only hope that other Steemians will be inspired by me and will start their own good cause initiatives :)

BUT I know already that it's going to be very hard to choose the one project that should be supported in my opinion as there are already so many that I would like to support :)

This is really sweet of you @delishtreats.
I wish to nominate @ecodesigns of @thegreens. @ecodesigns is a textile recycling and fashion designing hub of The Greens, located in Bamenda, Cameroon that is currently training 13 young girls for free in textile recycling and fashion designing. Besides textile recycling and fashion designing, the hub is also engaged in the collection and distribution of clothes for free to orphans and vulnerable children, prisoners and underpriviledged persons.
@ecodesigns' principal challenge is the lack of machines to effectively train her women and girls and such a donation will greatly assist in the purchase of more machines to continue to train more women and girls for free in textile recycling and fashion designing hence curb female youth unemployment, reduce inequalities, improve the health and wellbeing of poor people and end textile waste pollution.

Thank you for your nomination! It sounds like a great cause! Your nomination has been accepted.

Dear what a great opportunity All the charities I give a warm hart to are already nominated and just to tell you My favorite is PIFC offcourse. I always pay the pifc contestants a visit.

I miss alot of music charities so maybe I can See a nomination from @bengy musica poetica for @classical-radio, for classical community minded people, because music makes the world you around. Imagine the steemisfere without music, an classical music is the base for Our modern music!

I wish you luck with your choice making

Love britt

That is going to be one of the most difficult decisions that I ever had to take :) But I do it with pleasure :)

I agree with you! Steemit (and world in general) would be a sad place without music. I hope that @bengy will come here with his nomination :)

Thank you for stopping by and I wish you a great start of the week Britt :)

I will write up an application later! I always feel too embarrassed to nominate my own project...

I nominated you, so i just now need you to fill in the details 😉😉

Thanks! I wrote up a comment!

Great I hope you win, musically your the only one Thats important to take in cosideration to, steemit needs music @delishtreats 😉😉 and @bengy is the best musician is the best ambassador

I am having a great rainy monday couldnt be better hagah

You know where I would suggest. @pifc All the work that goes into it to help others, try to keep them motivated and supporting each other and the community.

Things have gone downhill greatly since HF20. Where commenting and engagement is everything, the witnesses turned the tables to where you're limited on interaction. I still feel strongly that interaction and engagement are everything. You know that the features of the winner gain SBI, besides the winner. It's the only way to keep the new plankton a float. You can only motivate so much.

Thank you for being you @delishtreats.

Thank you for the nomination! It's been accepted.

Also thank you for your support :)

You are incredibly generous! I have been doing what I can to help support this worthwhile project. https://steemit.com/venezuela/@drutter/let-s-give-water-this-christmas-mission-agua-possible-and-a-thirsty-venezuelan-family-need-your-help This project will instantly provide years of clean drinking water for several families and for my friend Edgar's small farm in crisis-stricken Venezuela!
Just yesterday I shipped Edgar some fishing line to help him feed his family. Amazon will ship a few things to Venezuela, as long as it isn't much needed food or medical supplies.

Thank you Melinda! In order for your nomination to be valid you will need to tell me in no less than 30 and no more than 100 words why YOU think that this project deserves the donation :)

Thanks. I edited my original comment. You have received so many worthwhile suggestions here.

This is the cause I was trying to nominate. Thanks melinda, and best of luck @delishtreats with your decision.

Good to know :) I don't know what went wrong with that link but it doesn't matter. I'll add your nomination to Melinda's :)

I support a Christian School in Kisii, Kenya; that helps AIDS Orphans with education, and food. The Man that runs it I talked into opening a steemit account right before the hard fork. Zephanni school in Kisii is an elementary school that has about a third of their student, who are Orphans! They are a poor school, but they are educating those that Kenya has written off, and left them to die. I send them hard cash every month, and they use it with great care!

Here is a post he made of the students at his school:
https://steemit.com/africans/@ronaldmakori/africans-with-empty-plates

Thank you! Your nomination has been accepted!

This is a great cause to support @smithlab! I'm glad that you chose it for your nomination :)

They are the front lines, I have sent them money for years, and they are VERY stingy with it! I sent them ten tablets a couple of years ago, and they set up a computer lab with them!
20170915_221906.jpg

They have the only elementary school with a computer lab! If he did not pull in so many Orphans, he would be making money, but he is always close to the financial edge, because every time he get a nickel to rub against a dime, he goes out, and rescues another Orphan.

This is truly GOD's front line, and life and death for these kids! I will continue to send them money, and he will keep feeding and educating them!

Thanks for the reply! I was hoping to send the monthly money by way of steem dollars, but things are a little volatile right now.

:)>

These kids are so adorable! Thank you for sending me the photo! I see that you are passionate about this project and I understand why! He has a great impact on their lives and he absolutely deserve some support! Is this guy local or is he taking part in a bigger international project?

With my husband we support a project in Uganda for many years already. They do similar activities like the project that you nominated. There were rebels in Uganda who killed many people and too many kids became orphans overnight. This project provides them with a shelter and schooling as well. Recently they even supported two kids with their university expenses. We send money directly to them and we receive kind of a magazine on a quarterly basis showing what they've done with our donation.

There are so many good people in the world. It always warms my heart to hear about this kind of projects :)

He is local, and has very little help. I do what I can, but they are always running close! In Kenya, orphans are written off, because statistically, they will starve anyway, so they do not waste their limited education money on them.

This MAN Has a Godly Heart, and named the school after his Father, who bought this land to build a school! He has done this to honor his Father; and to please his Heavenly Father! I feel Honored to be a part of it! He has Never asked me for money, but GOD told me to send it!

I have a little girl in Eithiopia by Addis Abba; I support through World Vision! My Son calls her my Rent A Kid....

:)>

You have a golden heart. I always feel inspired to meet people like you. I have also a little girl but in India :) It's SO nice to talk to a like-minded person :)

I didn't know it was so bad in Kenya. I knew there were issues as I was working with Kenyans but I didn't know it was so bad in regards to education.

It's amazing how those people do so much to help others even though they don't have much themselves. So many people from developed countries should learn from them..

When she was 6, I found her picture, and she so obviously did NOT want her picture taken! My Wife doesn't like her picture taken either, so she was a Kindred spirit. We started to support her that day, and she is 19 now.

Kenya has real problems right now in money for education. They took the hard stand that excluded Orphans, which is appalling! They are also having problems with tribal to tribal violence.

They are good people in Kenya, for certain! I like their work ethic.

He certainly has a burden for orphans! He is literally keeping them alive. He arranged with his church to feed them on the weekends, so they get one meal a day, every day!

:)>

That is now a long time that you support her. Have you ever met her? It's great what you're doing :)

I find it very difficult to understand why Orphans should be discriminated (That is the best word that I know for this but I'm not sure if it's correct in this content). They are those who should be helped. They don't have parents to take care of them so other people should do it. Kids are not to blame for losing their parents. The world is sometimes such a bad place to be..

What a good heart he has! One meal doesn't sound like a lot but it's better than nothing and I'm sure they are very happy with that :)

My nomination is for PIFC. They have such dedicated people

You just planted 0.05 tree(s)!

There are some amazing projects already nominated! I'll keep this in mind in case I stumble across a new one, but for now, I'd like to chip in with a tiny little contribution of 1 Steem (already sent to your wallet).

This is such a wicked awesomesauce project, @delishtreats, and I'm so glad @jaynie shouted out about it over on the #steemitbloggers Discord!

via GIPHY

Thank you for your support Traci :) I've already seen it and you made me smile as you are the first one! I was already worried that no one will participate :)

Don't hesitate to drop a nomination if you will stumble across some interesting project. I don't know yet how exactly the decision will be taken as I need to see all the nominations first but I know already it's going to be VERY difficult for me :) (and you as well since I'll include you because you contributed to the donation pot :))

I was the first? Coolness! 😊

My brain already hurts thinking about making a decision, so I don't know how much help I'll be. Maybe I can stand in the corner cheering, whilst you narrow down the list....lol!

via GIPHY

Hahaha :D Cheering is fine with me too :D

what a great movement.
The question you ask is a good one too. There are a lot of good causes in Steemit.

Thank you for your support Rebecca. There are so many nominations already.. it's going to cause me serious headache to choose one :)

Oh go girl! This is so sweet of you, I shall see if I can come up with some good contenders but have already upvoted @riverflows suggestion as I totally agree that would be a great and worthy cause 🌈🦋🌴💛🍀

Thank you for your support. Sallybeth! It will be very difficult to choose the right cause as I've already received so many great nominations :)

This is a beautiful action from you💖😊 Blessings☄

Congratulations @delishtreats!
Your post was mentioned in the Steemit Hit Parade in the following category:

I would like to nominate @mariannewest and her @freewritehouse project. She helps new Steemians create content on a daily basis by way of 5 minute #freewrites. She provides a daily prompt, and we write a story in 5 minutes. The community then supports the writers with comments, upvotes, and love to continue writing daily. I know I wouldn't still be here, if it wasn't for @mariannewest. 🙏

Thank you for you contribution! Your nomination has been accepted.

Wow!! That must be the biggest donation that I recall seeing on Steemit! You're an angel!!!

Hahaha, no, no, I just think (and hope) that good attracts good :)

Thank you for your support, Pauline! :)

Great idea, @delishtreats. I don't know too much about this South African charity on @steemit, but I am calling @papilloncharity over here so that he can tell you more.

Thank you for spreading the word :)

Wow, that is sooooooooo generous of you Martina 🌸💖🌸

Thank you my dear! :)

Awesome idea and thanks for your generosity.
I don't really know about any organisations, but I do know a lot of redfish here are still muted because they are limitef by their RC. 500 SP could help out loads of new, promising users to become a part of the community...

Thank you for your support :) Well... it's going to be a very difficult decision to take :)

Just to add - this is a donation not a delegation so I can't take it back. I wouldn't feel comfortable supporting new users with a donation as I don't know them and I don't know if they can be trusted. I believe it is better to support new users with delegation instead so they won't be able to run away with the money and we would never see them back here :)

You've got a point there :0)

Fantastic initiative here delishtreats :) keep up the great work, I can't think of any off the top of my head but if I do I will drop it here.

Thank you Niko! :) I will be happy to receive your nomination :) You still have one week to think about it :)

Sharing your post because I am sure there are projects that are in need out there. You have a huge heart. Many blessings to you and yours <3

Thank you for your kind words and for your support :)

Hey, @delishtreats!

Thank you for your contribution to the crowd. We are the Steemit project dedicated to empowering The Wisdom of Crowds. You can find more about us on our official website or whitepaper and you can support us by voting for our witness and joining our curation trail on Steemauto . We are also inviting you to join Crowdmind Discord server. Don't forget to use the #crowdmind hashtag and happy crowdsourcing!

Additional comment: Thank you for doing this. You decided to ask the crowd for their oppinion and that is awesome! We are the project which aims to empower the wisdom of the crowds and your initiative is very valuable to the whole ecosystem. If you have some time, you can come to our discord to promote your idea - there are many great people who would like to hear what you are doing. We will be here, to support you as much as we can. Upvoted and resteemed!

Great way to celebrate the season. I resteemed for nominations/donations

Thank you Steve! Is there no project that you would like to nominate? You don't know.. maybe I'll decide to support it :)

  ·  6 years ago (edited)

I'm going to nominate two projects (well, the third @pifc has enough nominations here already!).

@ifc (The Information Finding Championship) is a project by @apolymask and was one of my first communities here on Steem. It is a long running competition that encourages community and provides a weekly hook (which can range from "music", "treasure hunts" to "Philsophy" or "Conspiracies") for posting an entry. It has no specific focus on post genre, so entries can take whatever form that suits you, and it can take whatever angle you wish on the creative "hook". It is something that has gotten my writing up, and there have been a number of @curie votes that have come from the entries!

You can read an in-depth overview here:

https://steemit.com/curiecommunitybuilding/@ifc/application-for-curie-community-support

The second project that I would nominate is my own project:

@classical-radio is a support account to the @classical-music (started by @remlaps and @cmp2020) to help support posters that post in the #classical-music tag. We also try to support folk and jazz music. We have slowly been building up strength through power-up and delegations, but we are quite small. We return 70% of the liquid rewards to featured posters (10% to @bengy for writing and domain upkeep, 20% for account maintenance and growth).

Classical-music (and Jazz and folk) are pretty niche interests on Steem, and like all sectors of Steem, we have seen a significant downturn from the beginning of the year. However, for Steem to succeed, we will need to support and cater to as many varieties of interest as possible! I have chosen to focus my attention on the #classical-music side of things, as it is an area that is otherwise sorely neglected, and as it is the area of my expertise!

Thanks for running this opportunity!

Thank you for the nomination @bengy :) But the rule is one nomination per person. I suggest to accept your project as your nomination and hopefully @apolymask will come over and nominate @ifc. Do you agree?

Thanks for the mention bengy. :)
And yes I'd be happy to try to nominate the IFC if it's okay that I can nominate my own group?

Yes, it's ok :) Is there anything that you want to add or are you happy with what @bengy mentioned?

Cool! And sure. What I'd like to add is.. What we would do with the donation. If we somehow get picked we will put it all back into the community.

I noticed you mentioned something about helping animals and I looked at your page and saw a vegan post so I'm guessing you're vegan? I am as well. If we get the donation what we'll do is put it towards vegan quests in our contest, or half and half.. Half towards human and half towards vegan. But.. I wanted to do a quest about vegan food and the community seemed very supportive. If we had a bigger prize for that, I think it would be even more helpful!

Thanks for your consideration. :) And also thanks for your generosity. That's awesome of you to give back to the community like that! I'm sure whoever gets it will be very happy.

Yes, I am vegan :) Thank you for adding details to the nomination. It has been accepted.

Ah. It's great to meet more people who care about the animals. :) And Cool! Good to know. You're welcome and thank you again as well!

Perfect! Do you need me to edit the comment, to only have the single nomination?

No, no, it's fine :)

That's incredibly generous of you!

This is a great post and we support your work!

We have upvoted your post!

If you get the chance, please had over to our page to check out our work!

Best,

@charitycurator

Thank you for your support!I will check it out..

Brilliant! Thank you for the support.

Best,

@charitycurator

howdy delishtreats! 500 Steem! holy moly! That's amazing. I know there are many great projects and you'll pick a great one.

holy moly? I have always asked myself what it means :D

I hope so too. So far there have been some good ones nominated :)

yes Ma'am it's a tremendous initiative! To me "holy moly" just means a shocking fact. Astonishment. In this case a very pleasant one! lol. God bless you!

Have considered charity:water? They are among my favourite charities that I'm donating to each month.

You can nominate them :)

Great idea, Martina! I’ve just done that, in 97 words. ;)

I'm the leader of no project, but I am interested in getting steem moving through real selling...

https://steemit.com/blog/@lucylin/here-s-a-thought-some-positive-action-is-needed-on-steemit

I've been in sales all my life, (mostly retired from that), and didn't really want to get back into organizing things in the sales world again - but seeing steemit dying is killing me, when I see potential to grow with recruiting quality users, I can't no offer my input.

Give me the dosh, and I'll stop posting, and commit to organizing a real sales push, and talk to the technical side to get my idea rolling.

Nothing fancy, just lot's of hard work and grinding sales..

Thank you for your comment. I will be honest with you.. I don't think that this should be supported by this kind of donation as what you are trying to do is a business initiative and my donation is aimed to support a charity cause/leader/project. I understand that you are trying to support Steemit but this isn't really supporting people/animals in need and should be financed by other projects aimed at this kind of activities.

Have a good day!

fair enough - I was posting away and came across your post, no worries..

I hope that you will find the support that you're looking for as I believe that your idea is great :)

Cheers, but it's not my idea...you'll find it in every 'basics of business' written in the last 120 years...
(but techy geeks are way too clever to bother with such old ideas...)

If I get the support I'll do it, and organize a sales team - but not because I want to.
I now only have one 'real' business nowadays - and it only requires 6 hours a week attention, to maintain my small needs in life.

I consciously 'got out' of the business of selling,(after much success for 3 decades) and had no intention of ever get back in it.

But seeing steemit and the state of it and the mindset (or lack of) of people here, concerning commercial progress, kills me.

So I'll do it, but I can't play at doing it.

Which means that I'm setting myself up for the next 6 months, of 15 hours a day, 7 days a week full on work.

work, a verb that people in steemit do not seem to have in their vocabulary.

lol

Hey, @delishtreats, I would like to nominate @randomkindness if that is a valid cause, they are currently fundraising $200 for Mamanwa Tribe, you can see their latest post here: https://steemit.com/@randomkindness/steem-for-a-cause-charity-lottery-game-or-draw-013

As you see it is to fundraise $200, so this could easily help out multiple causes!

Why?

@meetmysuperego runs this and supports many good causes.
I believe that this has a greater net benefit for society,
lots of little 'wins' instead of one big win. I believe that
it is little things like this that make the difference. I also
like the fact that there is a reason to donate,
as in that a lottery is run, showing dedication to these causes.

Hi there,

Thank you for your contribution.

As mentioned in my post, please let me know in no less than 30 and no more than 100 words why you think that this project deserves the donation.

Have a good day!

Hey, @delishtreats, apologies, here is my reasoning:

Thank you! Your nomination has been accepted! :)

This is a beautiful Christmas gift to the community @delishtreats.

I hope you'll send your nomination :)

Okay, in the Christmas spirit I think my friends over at @foodfightfriday deserve a little outside help. The competition is a food one, that takes place every Friday. Any Steemit user, new or whale, can post anything food related, recipes, pictures of fancy restaurant plates, farmers market hauls, etc. , and we all vote for who we like the best. The winner receives 2 SBD and a people’s champ belt gif. The neat thing is this competition brings a lot of great people together and it’s been a little rocky keeping it going.

So my nomination is to @foodfightfriday, ran by @jlsplatts, @weirdheadaches and @dandays. Thanks for ringing in the Christmas spirit with all of us @delishtreats :)

Thank you for your nomination. It's been accepted. I haven't noticed this initiative before so thank you for bringing it to my attention. I've seen that you use fff tag but never realized it was about this one ;)

:)

Hey! I know of a bunch of organizations that could use some support but unfortunately none of them have a Steemit that I know of. Maybe this is a good jumping off point to encourage them to create one. I will reach out to some of my friends and see what I can make happen-- if they don't want to put in the effort I'll just create it for them instead! Cheers!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope that you will be able to convince them to join Steemit. We need new users :)
