Naughty cat x 3

in payitforward •  5 years ago

This post is actually inspired by Milo. Our naughty cat. I have always wanted to portray him as a naughty, playful cat- because that's who he is. In this tutorial, I envisioned him getting into trouble by intentionally lying in a tea cup filled with chocolate and, making such a mess!

I made the sleeping version because, he seems so assured that everyone will forgive him and, he does gets away with many things. In fact, he does not even attempt to hide his mischief and is very proud of his work all the time!

I would have used the part when I made this

but I had a few technical issues. I decided to create 2 other versions though- which are quite similar apart from the white one who seems asleep and, the yellow cat.

Let's start by making the tea cup.

The principle of making this is basically the same with this:

its the latte clay sculpture where I showed you guys how to make a mug. I will briefly show them here.

I just created a "saucer." I did not really go into details on this because basically, the cup is the "star" of this piece.

Last week, I ventured out to the kid's section and, I was attracted by this play dough extruder so, I bought it! One of the things that I have learned over the years is that, the kids' section sells things which can be used as tools. They're cheaper and more accessible.

For the "chocolate" I got a bit of a black clay mixed with water- because I am using a water based air clay.

I did the same with the latte tutorial. I will not explain further on how I did it but, you need to get it into a consistency where its not to watery or too hard. Something passable as "thick" liquid if you know what I mean.

I actually waited for a night just to have everything dry up.

I think you guys are familiar on how I create cat faces now. These are just pictures to avoid any confusion.

To make this,

the teacup set was basically made the same way- minus the color including the "mess."

I will basically not go into the whole process on how to create this cat because I have shown them above. Only some minor details like the eyes.

These are all air clay. I still have lots of them and, I do not know when I could finally get into my "other" stock but, I don't care. I just enjoy creating. This had been very therapeutic to me. A little something kids and adults alike can create at home!
