I was reading a post earlier by @tarazkp. A comment was made by an individual that left no recourse but to respond with something more than a reply. Here is the response

If you followed me for any reasonable time you would know the people that I read every post. And Tarazkp is one of them . I spend hours a day on Steemit. Way more than the average person. Most people cannot afford to spend that amount of time on Steemit. I am in a position that allows it.

I have stated that the learning curve is high here, and I started out at a level way lower than a ten year old. In this day and age it seems impossible that someone would have zero online / internet knowledge. I have kept a low profile , off the grid and if you googled my real name it would come up blank. My point is that everything is what you put into it. If you want to learn something you not only have to spend the time but pay attention to what is available or presented to you. We all start out at different skill levels.

I read every one of his post as if it was a textbook. I also read all the comments. The comments is what I like to bring forth. Most of my time here is spent reading. Here is one of my comments about commenting.

Comments are like a gold mine if you just take the time to read them . People seem to look at the post get there comment and vote in and run. There is value not only in the post but the comments.
I think I am saying the same thing you just said but getting it settled in my mind :)

The last sentence is true LOL. I basically just repeated his reply in my own words. But, What was the value that I got out of my comment?

When you start out here on Steemit for the majority of us our knowledge bases is nearly nothing. We have to struggle and learn. All the information is there. You do have to seek it out and apply it to your abilities. There is no way to avoid the struggle part. Or the low reward part. Yet some of us try with all our effort to do so. Seems like wasted effort. What does miss directed effort get you, besides missed opportunity.

What is worth doing is not only worth doing well, it is worth doing for no reward.

Commenting on post is probably the most important thing you can do. It also gives you some insight on the person that you are commenting to. If you get no response to a good comments overtime you should get the impression of being blown off or the opinion of the individual is that you have no value to them. On the same token if you look at one of their post that are a couple days old and see a pattern of no responses Move on to someone that has a little more appreciation for you.

This is all within reason and you should be reasonable in your decision to support their product. Did I just say product? Every post is a product. If it wasn't copyright law would not apply but it does. Everyone is trying to sell something or buy something when you break this down to the lowest level. Sure some of us has developed personnel relationships and that does change the dynamic a little. There is some who will sell you information about Steemit for $180 . Information that is free and available. People are falling all over themselves over paying for information that is available for free.

It did not cost you a dime to join this platform. and even in some cases free SP is given to you to start. You are given the ability to vote free, at no cost to you. It may not be a lot but it's something. Where else can you start a business with no up front investment. Is that not what this is. You have a product, people who will buy your product . All the software you need to run your business. People who will guide you and assist you in your business expecting nothing in return.

What is your business worth to you?
time, money, future retirement maybe a better life.

I loved this portion.

Till recently i was not aware about the monetary part of steemit or VP and SP etc. Infact when time was on my side I wasted almost 5-6 months by not knowing the real meaning and purpose of Steemit.

But better late than never, so i think I started from scratch hoping gradually I could reach higher targets like a redfish or minnow.

And this is an eye opener for many like me. They should realize the value of post as a product and the value of commenting or the value of giving respect to other steemiens products aka post. Thank you...

BTW when was the PIF discord channel opened? Any how I joined now

I just woke up and trying to get my first cup of coffee down. I saw you in the Discord and upgrade you to pif member. That will give you access to all the rooms to include post promotions

Thanks a lot Boss: I am very happy to involve with some really worth as well as creative aspect on steemit. It was also a good thing happened with my steemit life to be able to communicate with all those people who works behind piFc-

Thank you, stay blessed

I never read the contents but never missed out any comments too😂 that's what I have done for years on facebook, especially the news-page😆. Sometimes, it's more fun to read commentators reaction about the article. So, I almost did the same on Steemit especially on a very long essay with no pictures and too many graphics, something about bitcoins and insurances are most articles to be avoided😊

Your post? I must read it carefully sometimes two or three times to understand and find the poin of view (a slow learner know this feeling). When commenting on Steemit means business too, I will read the article, comments and put my coment too.

There is a lot to learn in the comments. You are a commenting machine. and that's a good thing. You seem very comfortable doing it and your comments are of good content.
No pictures don't bother me in a post but it seems you have to have at least one.
I pay not attention to the so called experts who have the answer. Whether its Bitcoin or how to get rich scheme on steemit or any other, this is the only way approach, no matter how many charts or salesmanship they use.
There is no only one way. Only information, fundamentals that we can use to mold to our own implementation.

I too have to read some posts two and three times :)

I have a middle name "talkative" since I was in elementary school, for being a radio announcer and talkshow interviewer for 10 years just sharpened my tounge😂 more and more. And here in steemit, I can make any comments just like a football commentators on tv for everything😄 commenting machine you said? I think I am.

You can write about anything, but my purpose to read yours is to find something to comment on and your reaction... always fun to read and to respond back🙇 thank you

I do enjoy reading your comments. I find you to be honest and refreshing. You bring a smile to my face :)

We have an idiom to call someone like me in Acehnese Language "kiban crah meunan beukah" uhmm... how is the cracks that's the way it break, it is about someone who speak up the way he/she feels and think and nothing can distracts them from telling the truth and voicing the opinions.

Thank you for being so nice to me and so patiently.. hahaha.. I remember your "towel" when reading at @lynncoyle1 about pussy😂

howdy sir @wolfhart..words of wisdom here and great advice.
people would be wise to stick to you like glue and learn something
everyday! thank you sir!
did you get all your mowing done with that beautiful new boss of a mower? my vote is dust, recharging but I wanted to show my support.

Yea but it all grew back . Mighty mo needs its first oil / breakin change . working on borrowing a trailer to get it to the shop.

LOL its damn hard keeping that power up

at my level it's impossible to keep my power up, can't wait until
I can contribute at least some to everyone I want, which is everybody
I see on here!
why don't you change your own oil? our's is the same way, needs a trailer to get it to the shop but we ain't got one.
so nice to see you on here wolfhart, you're starting to become a routine!

keep the warranty . the services are free
There is no way to give to everyone. It's a balancing act. for me it's one reason people should have dustsweeper. I vote 4 -500 times a week and with Steem being so low I can't keep the vote above the dust. Been working on posting once a day its a challenge but so far so good
This is the time to build ones account no matter what level

oh so you just don't worry about your vote counting for anything these days? or being worth nothing these days?

It's not they have no value because they do. You have to use the vote in the most affected way.

Here is just one example to give a vote maximum effect

you see a post and you make a comment on it. one that would required the poster to reply. You don't vote on the post and you wait for the poster to respond to your comment. You reply to his comment and give it a vote. Now your vote will be seen by him and you are engaging with him. Most of the time he will vote on your reply giving you a better return then if you voted on his post and your vote was not wasted or not noticed

This is a way to engage with larger fish when starting out. Because you really only have ten votes in a 24 hour period. All the bigger fish know this.
I am talking about a decent comment on their post in regards to their post

very good sir thank you!

A very thought provoking post indeed @wolfhart. Commenting is very important on any platform. First, it gives the person whose post you are reading the feeling that you have actually read it. Also quality comments connect the reader and the writer. It opens a whole new level of conversation and interpretation. And a few suggestions here and there or some analysis on the writer's work boosts them and allows them to continue forward. No one want to work hard creating some content and editing just to get zero response from their audience. For any blog to succeed having an active audience is important. And the key to that is being an active audience yourself. It's like barter system you give and then you may receive.

And the key to that is being an active audience yourself. It's like barter system you give and then you may receive.

I like that. Being an active audience whether your making a post or comment. A lot of wisdom in your comment.
Engaging not just a word or meaningless act

So true buddy! We can keep saying it and hopefully people will hear it :)

I sometimes learn more from reading through all the comments than I do from an actual post. And it's where you really start to "see" people I think because their posts are so polished, but the comments are more "them", is that makes any sense at all :)

I think because their posts are so polished, but the comments are more "them", is that makes any sense at all :)

yes it does . comments are more off the cuff. I find it gives a better understanding of the post

I like to read the post and the comments that followed from it, but I don't always have the time to do so. There's something to learn from both as they present different views on the respective topic.

Time is always an issue. never enough of it and we can't make more. We can only spend the time we have available and hopefully get more than we put in out

A very valuable and timely post @wolfhart... With so many bots around, it is hard to find genuine readers and genuine comments from actual people... As you have mentioned, it is important to appreciate and acknowledge good posts and to share your thoughts, be it appreciation or constructive criticism. I have realised this a little late, but have started reading and commenting articles more than I post.

Find the balance and consistency.

Your post is giving me more ginger to keep going on in the will of giving out. Knowing that your contect is welcomed by your readers gives you the zeal to do more.you nailed it @wolfhart

Find a balance that works for you. It's good to give but don't forget to give to yourself also. The bigger your account, or SP is the more you can give.
Know your limitation. And have FUN
