Hi there and welcome to my fist post on Steemit !

I wanted to share my latest computer build, so lets start with the part list:

• CPU: Xeon E5 2673v3 (12 cores 2.4GHz - 3.3Ghz Boost clock
• MB: Asus X99-M WS
• RAM: G.Skill Trident Z 32GB (2 times 2x8GB) DDR4 3200 MHz CL14
• GPU: Zotac 1080ti AMP!
• SSD: Samsung 960 Pro M.2
  (mounted on an Asus Hyper M.2 x4 mini card instead of directly on the MB)
• AIO cooler: NZXT Kraken X62
• Chassis: Thermaltake Core V-21
• PSU: EVGA Supernova G3 1000W
• Fans: a couple of old 120 mm Enermax fans with variostat
• Thermal paste: Thermalright Chill Factor 3 (CFIII)

A few afterthoughts and future plans for the build:

• The RAM are 2 dual channel kits and are total overkill at 3200Mhz, as the CPU won't let me overclock the ram above 2133Mhz anyway (I was hoping for it, but testing proved me wrong).
  Plus they don't work in quad channel, as in only 2 sticks are used by the memory controller although all 4 are seen in the SPD section of the BIOS and in CPU-Z.
  I tried all sort of settings in the BIOS, including voltage on the sticks, CPU, VCCIO, VCCSA and so on, to no avail...next up is switching the sticks around and reseating the CPU in the socket.
  I'm open to ideas at this point - please leave a comment if you have some !
  Last resort will be selling them ... I'm sure an AMD Ryzen build will be happy with it.
  That would be too bad, I really like these G.Skill sticks (I'm a KTM fanboy...Orange), but I don't think I'll stay with the brand if I have to replace them. I'll be looking at a proper quad channel kit, probably the Corsair Vengence LPX 4x8GB 2133MHz CL13.
  There are also new RGB quad channe kits from G.Skill, but they don't seem play well on X99, plus the way they operate the RGB (by writing in the SPD table of the sticks) isn't very reassuring anyway.
  
• The fan configuration is all temporary, as I'm waiting for some PWM Noctuas to replace them all, including the front 200mm one. That should allow some nice automatic thermo-regulation with a temp-sensor going to the graphics card.
  The intake fan at the bottom will go on top, with a second one. This will make the intake on the bottom passive and will pout less dust into the system over time. The exhaust fan at the rear will be replaced with a 140mm fan.
  
• The M.2 PCIe card for the SDD is used so that there is less heat on the MB sockets and so the drive resides in the airflow of the chassis. Not sure how this will hold up when I add the second 1080ti next month.
  The 960 Pro should heat up less then the notorious 950 Pro, but I got some small copper heatsinks just in case I have to put it back on the M.2 socket on the MB.
  
• The dust filters on the sidepanels seem to be reflective in some way, causing them to appear grey instead of black when exposed to the camera flash.
  I've ordered some magnetic dust filters that will go on the bottom of the case (outside) to cover those intake cut-outs.
  
• The cable management looks ok for the moment, I'll be looking into some custom sleeved cables later on as a finishing touch instead of the already sleeved stock cables.
  Probably best to just go with extensions as the PSU cables have capacitors in them. I guess they better stay in there ?
  
• A really bad idea to have put that USB3 enclosed SSD on top of the case when I snapped the pictures, as the dust filters have a magnetic contour...was only for a couple of minutes and he's doing fine, to my relief.
  
• I also really would like to go all out and put a complete water loop in there, but that's for much later I guess :)
