For many months we have been waiting for any particulars about the new generation of consumer graphics cards from NVIDIA, but the only information we have is based mainly on rumors. However, before we get the honor of testing new systems, we have to deal with the Pascal generation a little bit ... The Greens do not want us to forget about it so quickly, because recently they presented us a refreshed GeForce GTX 1050 with 3 GB of VRAM. It was a matter of time until some producer presented his own version of this system. Gigabyte, who will sell this unit with the WindForce 2X cooling system with two fans, is well known to us.
The clock rates are 1417/1556 MHz in Gaming Mode or 1442/1582 MHz in OC Mode. In addition, there are no other differences in the specification.
GeForce GTX 1050 3 GB is a new and somewhat surprising proposal of the Greens, so let's remind her of the specification for the order. The whole is based on the GP107 chip equipped with 768 CUDA units (the same as the GTX 1050 Ti), but the memory is based on a quite narrow 96-bit bus, which translates into a lower bandwidth (86 Gb / s). The default chip clock is 1392 MHz increasing to 1518 MHz in Boost mode, but here we are dealing with a non-preferential model. Therefore, these values are 1417/1556 MHz in Gaming Mode or 1442/1582 MHz in OC Mode. In addition, there are no other differences in the specification. The effective memory frequency remained intact (7008 MHz).
From the outside, the discussed GeForce looks just like any other Gigabyte card. There are three video connectors on the herring: one DVI, DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0. The card has a small appetite for electricity, so we will not find additional power ports. We do not yet know the price and availability date of this model, but we hope that the card will actually replace the 2 GB VRAM chips and will be sold at the same prices. We are very curious about the performance of this unit - can the GTX 1050 Ti position be compromised? Everything will turn out soon.!
