Pearl Jam is a group of grunge and alternative rock formed in Seattle, United States, in the year 1990. The group was originally composed by Stone Gossard (rhythm guitar), Jeff Ament (bass), Mike McCready (lead guitar), Eddie Vedder (voice) and Dave Krusen (drums). The drummer in the current line-up is Matt Cameron, a member of Soundgarden, who belongs to the group since 1998.

Formed after the breakup of Mother Love Bone, former group of Gossard and Ament, Pearl Jam would break the big market with their debut album Ten. Along with Nirvana, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden are considered one of the largest and most influential bands in the entire Seattle scene. Despite being recognized as one of the most important and influential groups of Grunge, Pearl Jam always stood out for a Rock with more melodic touches and influences from rock groups of the 60s and 70s like The Who, Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd. Its members have always been characterized by their rejection of certain common practices in the music industry, such as the making of promotional videos; his boycott of the Ticketmaster company is also known. Rolling Stone magazine described them in 2006 as a group that "spent most of the past decade destroying their own fame."

Pearl Jam is considered one of the most important groups of the 1990s. To date, the group has sold 30 million albums in the United States, 4 as well as an approximate amount of 65 million records worldwide. Pearl Jam has survived and outsold many of its contemporaries from the 90s alternative rock scene, and is considered one of the most influential bands of the decade. Music critic Stephen Thomas Erlewine, from the music magazine All music, calls Pearl Jam "the most popular American rock band of the 90s." The Vitalogy and Ten albums have been included by Rolling Stone on their list of the 500 best albums in history. The band has been included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and its singer Eddie Vedder is in the seventh position of the list of the 100 best singers ever made by Rolling Stone. Hello, you are right, he is one of the best vocalists that can exist .. over the years I think he still follows his current voice .. many of us, his fans, we are happy to see the group together and listen his new music (Eddie Vedder is so cool!) .. what great talent right? what do you think?
