Committing more and more to the Steemit community is really heating things up! Over the past few weeks especially I've been meeting a lot of interesting new people on the platform and I love the mini-conversations I'm having in various comment sections.
Thank you everyone who has followed my content with enthusiasm and support!
To celebrate, I wanted to do a fun little activity to get to know more incredible individuals on the platform. Let's do a Pecha Kucha!
You Do You, Boo
In the creative sector, we often do what we call “Pecha Kuchas” - very short presentations of who you are and what you do. It's great for architects and artists to give a very condensed representation of your portfolio and interests.
Pecha Kuchas (pronunciation explained) are useful for a number of reasons. They help hone your practice into a kind of elevator pitch, clear and concise for people first getting to know you and your work. This in turn helps you practice presenting yourself. Above all, it gives the curious and wayward creative a moment of reflection and real consideration of their practice.
On Steemit, we see tons of “introduceyourself” posts which is a great way to explain your background and current situation. What I would love to promote is the use of Pecha Kuchas to determine your short and longterm goals, on and off Steemit, as it pertains to your profession and/or interests.
Pecha Kucha? I Barely Even Know Her!
That joke was a linguistic stretch. ANYWAY, here's an example of an online pitch that I just whipped up. I have a main “elevator pitch” and a side note concerning my auxiliary interests -
@Hansikhouse is a cultural institution dedicated to fostering cultural innovation and mobilizing creative potential in diverse communities. Our practice of architecture, social-impact art, urban planning, and cultural development span the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
My personal side interests include language-learning, gaming, and the future possibilities of blockchain tech.
How About You? Who are You and What Are Your Ambitions?
So give it a try! I'd love to see a little tab on the side of Steemit that gives short but potent presentations of unique individuals of this community. Do let me know if you ever do a Pecha Kucha yourself and be sure to use the hashtag to make it more searchable. Or try it out in the comments below! I would love to get to know the community better.
Steem on!

well from the perspective of steemit i'd like to be firmly intergrated into the community, i'd like to move to another place in europe, set up a creative retreat to have half/yearly get togethers. help a town in europe setup some IOT nifty stuff, play lots of games live on twitch and basically help people along the way! :)

If you're up for starting a Steemit residency/retreat program, I'd be completely down.

yep your on the right path. i gotta look into (and take part in) a similar erasmus project in europe and see how it works and then maybe building a residency/retreat program will be easier to build out. following you. nice to meet you dude.

Likewise! Yea it would be very helpful to emulate an established program like Erasmus. It would incredible to do writing/artist/radio/etc. workshops with fellow Steemians.
