USB flash drive may be inaccessible due to either logical or physical reason. Many people ask about how to recover data from corrupt usb drive. So I decided to put a manual method which would not cost while performing data recovery.

The steps are given below, simply perform the steps as mentioned and your data will be recovered. But there are many cases in which these methods are not helpful. For secured data recovery it is recommended that use pen drive data recovery software that enables you to recover deleted, formatted, corrupted, lost and inaccessible data from pen drive.

Steps to Recover Data from Corrupted USB by Using CMD

Follow some simple steps to recover data form corrupt or inaccessible storage device. Here I am discussing manual method to resolve this error.

  1. Go to Start menu and click on the Run
  2. Type CMD and press Enter to access the command prompt.
  3. Type the command chkdsk e: /r and press Enter.
  4.   Now the chkdsk command will check complete disk for the corruption. Here you will get a warning message that your device is not windows derive. Just simply press Y and continue the process.
  5.   Now the process will ask you to save lost chain into files, press Yes and then this process will report back result.

Note: - If the external storage device is highly corrupted then this command will not work properly and it may delete the data as well. So in this case you can use Pen Drive Recovery Software to recover corrupted and deleted data.

Conclusion

The above mentioned method may lost your valuable data. So it is recommended that for highly important data don’t try this method. Simply download the software from above given link and recover entire data. I hope that this information will help you in recovering data from damaged pen drive.
