Homemade Limoncello
For Christmas, as every year, I prepare the wonderful homemade limoncello, a sweet liqueur made with organic lemons, possibly those of the Sorrento or Amalfi peninsula, places that compete for the birth of the famous original limoncello. The recipe of Limoncello is very easy, just put to macerate for several days, the peel of the lemons with pure alcohol, then combine the syrup made with water and sugar and the game done. An equally good alternative is the cream of limoncello made with milk instead of water. This latest version, creamy and enveloping, seems to be the limoncello preferred by women. Limoncello is an excellent digestive, cold drunk is ideal for every meal. It is certainly an excellent gift idea for Christmas, but it is consumed all year round, regardless of the holidays.
