They are formed by 11 Colombian musicians, coming from the region of Timbiqui, Cauca, Colombia. With their music and folkloric instruments such as the marimba de chonta, the conucos and the folkloric bass drum, they mix urban and Latin music and create an original sound of roots. The group began in the early 2000s, playing native Pacific music with traditional instruments used in some genres such as Currulao, Bunde, Juga, Arrullos, Abozaos, Bereju, Bambazu and Porro. Later they would decide to add more urban instrumentation such as drums, electric guitar, bass, keyboards, trumpets, saxophones, among others, to obtain a richer mix in sound. Being nowadays a solid group in concept and formation, Herencia de Timbiqui shows us with the passing of the years the evolution that had the same one, and the individual and group growth that is maintained in constant escalation.
