Reading the holy scriptures: Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position

The favoritism is a sin against the commandment of Love: "For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.", 1 John 4:20-21.
Mercy (compassion, kindness, gentleness) and generosity with those who have less, are a distinctive characteristic of life, for those who enter the Kingdom of God (the government of perseverance, the empire of wisdom). Just as spiritual goods are shared, the perfections of God that are for communion; material goods are also shared for the same purpose: "Be merciful just as your Father is merciful", Luke 6:36; "Be holy because I am holy", 1 Peter 1:16.
Greed drives many men in search of material wealth and despising our neighbor; but the concept of wealth has a different connotation in the doctrine of the Kingdom of God: "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.", 2 Corinthians 8:9.
Paul in his letter to the Romans, explains to us how those who are children of God, the children of the light, live pleasing God: "Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position", Romans 12:16.

Favoritism, despising the disadvantaged and the vulnerable people such as orphans and widows is born of pride and greed, Jesus during his life faces these grave sins: "Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.", Matthew 20:26-28.
