Just got back from london and a room full of blockchain people interested in ‘where the ball is heading too’ when it comes to all things digital assets and tokens. I was lucky to be the stand in for jason goldberg, the head honcho for the ost.com platform and pepo.com fame. He was busy in India for the dates and asked me if i could authentically jump in and ‘do my thing’
I created a copy of the presentation (made in keynote) as a ‘walkthrough/talkthrough’ that will have gone live by the time i’ve finished my presentation (the joys of scheduling eh) and should be embedded below, I’m not sure if they are streaming the event but i know they are doing a podcast before the event which should be interesting (great use of the space & people speaking)
I’m mainly here with my pepo hat on of course but mainly as a content creator moving away from centralised platforms to decentralised ones and all the issues that potentially go along with making the change.
I covered steem heavily in terms of the different frontends and immutability and decentralized nature of it all but i did not go into depth as i did not know how many creators were in the audience.
This was my first speaking/presentation engagement in a long time, probably since doing cybersalon and certainly feeling a decade away since doing my tedx over in nottingham.
One of the upsides to doing the presentation and something that really stood out was how it came about — i mean, I’ve never met jason personally and only know him from using the pepo application, it’s interesting how trust works in a decentralised video platform.
It’s the first time i think that’s happened, also, taking tokens in the platform as well for my time and involved (with a stipend and my travel covered) it felt like ‘decentralised presenting’ and all that sidechain value I’ve been banging on about come true — we are nodes in the network, bringing and sharing our value wherever we go.
Surely this it the way forward for blockchain companies — not to have employees but people who are advocates of applications running on their respective chains going to functions and keeping the value in those economies.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the presentation, the room had about seventy people and i was one of three speakers, overall a good event and I’d heartily recommend you check out their meetup group for events in london about blockchain.
Cheers!
