Poverty is not just a menace, it became a tool used by the powerful to manipulate the world, politicians use it as well as even the rich around the corner of the block. Then hunger, which is a cousin to poverty, they are interwoven because a poor man ends up not having anything in his belly.
However, it is understandable when famine makes people go hungry, despite our advancement in technology, we have not been able to improve nor solve food crisis and famine in remote parts of the World.
Sadly, we boast of our technological prowess with nukes and the number of souls it could blast into the abyss, humans quest for power and wealth has driven us down the predatory road, it is one thing to kill for food as predators do, it is another thing to kill for wastage just like some countries do wasting innocent lives and rendering millions homeless and putting them at the mercy of Nature and Hunger.
Since weapons of war and devices of mass destruction were placed high above a meal per day for some and the rights of others to live, for this inhumane reasons; Billions of dollars have been spent on war and preparations of war while millions of people across the world could barely afford weekly meals not to mention daily feeding.

The history of poverty could be traced way back till the creation of mankind from the scriptures, it got worse as humans evolve and realized that power through bloodbaths and corruption creates more poor and hungry people that would do anything to get a meal.
Now we live in a World where peace and order are like a mirage, where perpetual violence and chaos reign supreme day in, weeks in, months out, corruption rules the day, politicking rules the night and Greed makes the call, while the poor go hungry and perishing.
How did humanity get to this stage? The world would have been a better place to live in without fears or dangers of surviving through each day with at least a meal in the belly!
