We can control our thoughts. It's out decision to feel sad or happy. In every single moment. When we decide to be happy our body starts to release new hormons.
It works perfectly. You just need to be aware of your mood and feelings then you can direct your thoughts to motivate yourself.
First few times it feels artificial, but in the end it becomes so natural. To be in control is great.
With control you can choose your best mood for best performance by experiments. For me enthusiasm works the best. Also positive attitude towards great work I am going to do. I stop any thought that does contradicts that. Be prepared although, your brain will try to reason with you ;-)
