Willow Catkins and Gratitude for the Return of a Favorite Medicine

Budding Willow in the front yard. I pruned this old bush last November and again in January. It had been neglected and some branches were covered in fungus. Now many new shoots are sprouting from the trunk and lower branches. I'll be harvesting some for medicine ( Willow bark is a natural pain reliever among much else) and also for transplanting up to the back pasture.

Some of this will be used for the rooting hormone triggering capabilities in Willow, to stimulate some fruit trees I just planted in the orchard.

More to come soon!
