This is an interesting and thought provoking article. There a few things mentioned that we have not tried yet on the homestead but are in the planning stages. ie need more money :)

Thank you, @cecicastor. I'm realizing, there are a few things mentioned that I probably should explore in greater depth, dedicating their own post to them. Are we thinking about the same ones? I specifically was referring to the Jean Paine method or the rocket mass heater, but you were probably thinking about other things, since presumably heating is not an issue where you live.

Rocket heating no, but rocket oven and stove yes.

never really thought seriously about combining wind and water energy the way you described. That is a pretty good idea and something I'm going to further research now. Thanks :)
