Gambions and Such

in permaculture •  6 years ago

First, I want to give a big shout out to Josh Robinson from @sdsustainable for identifying the plants I posted yesterday. He was my first Permaculture teacher and if you are in San Diego and want to take a PDC - check him out.

Today, I was reminded of my course again as I was walking to the Hubbel Trading Post from Sage Memorial Hospital. I took a zillion pictures, but only want to share with you right now some of the setups designed to deal with water.

Arizona has Monsoon rains in August and is known for sudden flash floods. Preventing erosion seems to be foremost on the mind of people here.

You will see Gambians - basically wire cages filled with stones and a few other treatments as well.
