Despite the difficulties, on his second missionary journey, Paul founded the Church of Thessalonica. Church to which Paul dedicated two letters especially. These two letters have something in common, they speak to us of the eschatological hope and of the consummation of the Kingdom of Heaven with the second coming of our Lord Jesus and the resolution of the problem of evil.
This issue was creating great discrepancies in the Church and Paul tried with his authority to establish peace and calm, because in the end, no one knows the day or the hour but the Father who is in Heaven: "For you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night" 1 Thessalonians 5:2.
But while this patient wait lasts, the apostle Paul requests his brothers and sisters in the church to persevere in faith, the apostle tells us about living the sanctification by the spirit: "Be holy because I am holy" 1 Peter 1:16.
In other words, just as is what belongs to Caesar, so is what belongs to God, like when the Pharisees set a trap for Jesus and show him a denarius (Matthew 22:21), taxes belong to caesar but mercy (compassion, kindness, gentleness) belongs to God, this is the true message of the gospel.
An example of this is the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37), who sees his neighbor in need, like all of us the Good Samaritan has to make his life, but that does not mean that we cannot make our small contribution to change the world.
Thus the apostle Paul inspires the believers of the Church of Thessalonica to have firmness in faith and trust in the holy spirit:
"But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ" 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14.
