The Persian alphabet is the same as the Arabic alphabet (with 4 extra letters). It is written from right to left and like the Latin alphabet, each letter indicates a sound. One problem is that short vowels (a, e, o) are not usually written and this makes learning the script a little difficult. Besides, the letter are attached to each other and they change based on their position (something like lowercase and uppercase letters).
