The person who doubts cannot receive wisdom: Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. James 1:8

The apostle James in his letter addressed to the twelve tribes of the dispersion, and with a style very similar to that of some sapiential books in the Bible, taught about the importance of achieving the spiritual perfection through the spiritual gift of perseverance, that is, achieving the fruits of the spirit listed or described in the epistle to the Galatians (Galatians 5:22-23). Because it is through these fruits or spiritual gifts, that the believer in Jesus becomes the full image of God, that is, the perfect likeness to the creator, as Jesus taught: "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect" Matthew 5:48.
But before achieving this, which is the ultimate goal of the spiritual life along with the contemplative life, the believer must ask God for the wisdom from above; and this is so because wisdom participates in both science and intelligence. Wisdom is not a simple human virtue like prudence, but rather a grace, wisdom is precision and accuracy.
Through the gift of wisdom, integrity and the knowledge of the truth itself are achieved. And when a person asks for this important gift that person cannot doubt, because the one who doubts is because he has a weak and inconstant faith, subject more to worldly needs than to divine realities.
This is why the apostle James began his epistle by describing how to ask God for wisdom through faith in Jesus:
"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do" James 1:5-8.
The wisdom and the fruits of the spirit, as mentioned by James, are the most notable charisms of a sincere and pure faith in Jesus.
