You’re in a therapist’s office.

On one side of the couch is you and on the other side is money.

You’re telling the therapist all the things that bother you so much about money.

How you “don’t want to need money”

And how you “hate that money is always on your mind when you don’t have enough”

But then your therapist asks you this:

“What if your relationship with money—this endless push and pull—isn’t about the dollars in your bank account, but about how you value yourself and your work?”

That’s a tough pill to swallow…

And this might go against everything we’ve been taught but money isn’t just currency.

It's a reflection of the value you place on what you offer the world.

Every time you say, "I hate needing money," what you might be really saying is, "I'm unsure if what I’m doing is truly valuable."

Think about it… If you deeply believed in the value of your work, your products, or your services, would money still feel like a burden?

Or would it start to feel like a well-earned reward or better yet, as a tool that can provide you freedom, choices, and opportunities to grow and contribute.

This is where the shift needs to happen.

If you find yourself resenting the need for money, perhaps it's time to look deeper.

Are you truly doing what you love?

Are you pouring your heart into something that matters not just to you, but to others?

And if you are, are you valuing your work appropriately?

I know it sounds cliche, but it’s true…when you align your personal values with your work, and truly solve problems for people, the abundance will follow.

Not because you chase it, but because people can sense authenticity and passion.

They pay for value, and they invest in passion.

So next time you sit down on that metaphorical therapist's couch trying to better your relationship with money…

Don't dwell on what bothers you about money.

Focus on how you can increase your value.

How can you contribute more, give more, and ultimately, be more?

That’s the challenge I leave you with.

Look inside, adjust your lens, and eventually you’ll start to see money as a friend that applauds your efforts and multiplies your impact.

Until next time,
