Yes, VIVA definitely has heaps of potential, especially with all the upcoming changes with TradeQwik.

I've also got my eye on a couple of other projects, Equibit which will be having a second ICO very soon, and Sphre which I'm thinking of investing in after the Stellar Lumins distribution.

I love Eth's marketing, but i'm recently getting worried bout their actual technical capabilities, which is why i'm holding less eth now. Oh man, it's hard to suggest. If you're using disposable cash aka money u can lose then it's pretty easy lol. I think index-type coins like TaaS, ICNX, BCAP are fine since they're essentially buying into multiple coins. I think @kingscrown would be a great resource for this :)

Advantages are that it forces you to keep steem power (which could turn out to be a good thing), and maybe it could also affect how people perceive your account. If you're 100% power up all the time, maybe people see you as a long-term player and would want to support more. But that's just perception. Nowadays it may be better to do 50% / 50% for a variety of reasons.

No best time to post really! I publish anytime. But if you want to try, observe american timing. Publish something in their morning/afternoons :)

hi kevin! I can relate with the adiction over steem as a social platform and since is the first one I get too involved too I kinda feel your struggle about fittig all this time on internet here, plus RL. but well this is a good kind of addiction at least for me so far.
oh.. I wish I could know at least a quartier part of what you and other crypto investers know lol I'm such a newbie that just discovered this amazing world!
I didn't know you work in the music industry, that's pretty cool, fellow musician. Now it makes much more sense your good taste in music.
my 2 questions would be:
1- wich genres do you work in your music company events?
2- so, do you suggest me to hold my steem just as steem liquid or to power up? I'm kinda indecise about what to do and what to expect in the steem's near future price.

Hey @aneblueberry, im actually not much into the music currently pushed by my company, i left it up to the main partner to grow the business and theyve chosen trance mainly at the moment, which is a good decision. We can later go to other genres.

Steem power is definitely for long-term. No point powering up if you need the cash or quick profits short term!

Never thought of that really! Might be way better than powering down, of course, but doesn't seem like it will involve a trade that can be easily quantified. How much to rent out X amount of SP?

Say I offered 200 bitshares a week for 25,000 delegated steem power, you get cash and keep vested and I am able to curate with more steem power. Just throwing numbers out... You might have a more acurate conversion that would be closer to market.

It's getting bigger I think, but I tend not to get myself involved as it always seemed like MLM stuff instead of actual development..

Yeah using disposable cash is the best for crypto. Just hold without fear, the upside is huge. No point selling stuff quick, u'll miss out on the moonshots.. whatever i earn in crypto i rarely cash out to national currencies actually.

I'll model that principle. in terms of Steem itself the value in holding already outweigh the extra money gained from cashing out. Im already in the process of tightening down my budget to first pay my debt and then slowly trickle the rest into crypto. Granted i don't have much, But i'm happy with my progress so far.

the National currency where I am is already in shambles. no point "saving up" cash in the bank.

I wonder how my life looks like when >80% of my assets are in crypto.

Which are your top altcoins atm?

I'm not into ICOs, since they tend to be pump and dump. But I think we will see further growth potential in the coming months for some altcoins. This is because traders and investors are uncertain about the hard and soft fork issues with BTC. Which is why they will shift their balance of their portfolio towards altcoins.

My picks would be:

Litecoin
Ethereum Classic
Dash
Siacoin (my personal favorite atm, I'm up with about 90%)

I joined last summer as well. I'm just a pleb and stopped posting for a while. I'm not that into social media. I do have a few ideas though about what I can provide as far as content for here and possibly youtube (would be nice if we can just upload videos straight to Steemit). We will see how much time I have this summer to get the ball rolling.

Buy a LAMBO. Haha just joking.. I guess just building out cooperative communities around here, and push the idea that we should be able to earn a little something out of working on our interests. Steem also seems to be like valve corporation, except, well more open. Check out their employee handbook :)

Kevin thank you for opening up yourself to questions because I been dying to pick your brain ever since I joined this platform. Do you think SteemIt is going to be more of social platform for cryptocurrency enthusiast or will it really compete with Reddit and FaceBook one day. $25 by 2020 would be amazing and I believe that to possible as well - like I have told many people I am on the Steem train for the long haul and I am going to buy getting more and more Steem and SteemPower in the future.

Hmm it could go both ways. In any case, i think Steem's valuation will be way higher than Reddit / Facebook with the same population of users.. so I dont think Steem needs to be super mainstream like a billion users. Just a million would do too, if most of us are sharing our assets via steem power. But it could happen, if the blockchain setup can support that massive scale..

Oh i'm not related to steemgigs, just working on something similar. I usually take quite a long time for any of my posts even if it's short lol. Plenty of considerations, even some walkaround in the corriders thinking if my blogroll would start to seem too spammy, but I'd really like to use the platform freely sometimes.

There are autovote bots, unfortunately (and fortunately). Hmm i've thrown in a couple hundred of ethers when steem was 2 dollars in 2016. It went to 20 cents, but I just held on. Now i'm glad the price has returned to 2 dollars :)

It is truly interesting to see all of your stats. It really does show that hard work, good content, great engagement can really lead to large things.

You have a lot of followers! Do you think that many of them read what you write or even see the post? I feel the trend here is to ask for followers recently (I won't being doing that). I think obtaining followers more organically would lead a lot more success!

Hmm no idea at all.. looks like stuff just gets more seen in top trending, and i usually get about views totalling to about 10% of the number of followers i have if the post doesn't appear on trending. I dont think much bout it really.. and i was surprised with the number. I guess, just continue steeming! I used to put a simple and short follow me text at the bottom of my posts.

Surprised there's no clear competitor yet. Clearly akasha, synereo etc are not really going to work out. Too lofty, their plans are not even rooted in user behaviour. They should have rapidly prototyped their stuff and test the market. Not sure what they're doing. Can't tell the future, although i hope we'd return to being nomads :)

Appreciate you taking the time to do this.

Blogged yesterday, thought it was pretty good.

I Offered a contest that was fun, and in it I referred to an article from a decent sized steemer and tagged and linked to him, he obviously wasn't appreciative.

I Offered the winner 10 dollars and I would match the 10 dollars if it was donated to the good cause of one of a few members that were going through rough times if it reached a certain level of upvotes.

It got 4 upvotes and less than a dollar.

I want this platform to work, but I'm losing faith in it after last night.

Oh that's set by the witnesses. I dont think ithey're going increase the APR anytime soon as to limit the inflation rate. But you can consider APR generated from voting / curation activities.

maybe I dont have much reasons , but when I see that with 2 dollar which is equal to buying a cake or something like that , I can buy 1000 coins of it.

It’s not easy to tell. People support cryptocurrency because of hyperinflation in fiat and security issues.

It is better to have inflation, but what is the suitable rate annually? I believe a stable environment, The ideal case should be between 5% and 6% annually in order to let people work.

In future, what kind of crypto can still stand? I personally don’t know which, but reddcoin has a value to stand because it acts as real banking system which only need at most 10W and massive storage space per node instead requiring massive scale of miners.

People believe bitcoin as the development team has answered how to deal with hyperinflation while with high security. In later stage, some teams find wrong on the first model so they introduce different models such as Peercoin, Dogecoin and etc.

Reddcoin becomes more popular when the improved staking model introduced which no one has used before. It depends on your activity, Also only few watts with big storage space to work so it has a value to stay while others, may be only no bounds or group mine with others.

Do I need to pay for additional 'premium' to follow your (or anyone's) trail on streemian? It doesn't seem to acknowledge the 3 users I added to 'my trail' after I signed up and verified. No rewards are reflected after 3 days...

I don't get what you mean. Premium means you'll get to the front of the trailing vote, so effectively, more curation rewards.
