Stay hydrated:
Here are some useful tips to stay hydrated.
• Weigh how much fluid you need to intake while working out:
This totally depends on your type of activities that you follow, and you need to decide your water consumption level according to your physical structure, gender and most importantly, on weather. In UK, within a single day, the weather changes from sunny to cloudy to rainy. The average temperature remains in between 18-25 degree Celsius. For this,
- Intake 8 ounces of fluid during the warm-up session.
- During the workout session, drink 7 – 10 ounces of fluid or water in every 10 – 20 minutes.
• Do not frequently go for sports drinks:
Sports drinks are only useful for the extensive and intense workout regime, and you need to discuss the same with your trainer to intake sports drinks. If the time of your workout regime remains within one hour, it would be advisable not to take it during your workout, as it may lead to some dangerous side effects.
• Use Sport Drinks Wisely:
Most of the cases, water suffices to stay hydrated. But if you are into intense or vigorous workout regime, you might need sports drinks. You need to be very careful while choosing it because a sport drink is infused with high calories, sodium and added sugar.
Some sports drinks even contain caffeine. So be selective and do not pick any sports drink randomly. It is advisable to consult an expert or your personal trainer.
• Small Sips:
Large amount of water gulping at a time can be proved as dangerous. Sipping small amount of water at a regular pace helps your body to avoid dehydration. Having mouthful of water at a time leads you to rush to the washroom frequently which may cause dehydration, and you need to intake water according to the suggestion of your personal trainer.
If you feel muscle cramps, dry mouth, nausea, dizziness, fast heartbeat, then you must consult a doctor. These might be the symptoms of dehydration. Keeping the balance of water/fluid in your body is really necessary. Hopefully, these tips will help you to stay hydrated and to sustain a healthy life.
