Kipu Life Trip Day 10

On our last day in Peru we awoke in the city of Puerto Maldonado in the lovely Wasai Lodge and Expedition Hotels. If you ever need find yourself in Puerto Maldonado this is the hotel for you. It is located on the banks of the river, comes with all the modern amenities you would expect in a hotel and is run by a generous and kind local family that made the experience all the more warm and welcoming. Check out their website here -- http://wasai.com/puerto-maldonado-amazon-hotel-lodge.html

After waking up we went for a walk along the river banks and crossed the brand new bridge which was finished only a few years ago in 2012. Before then you had to take boats across the river.

After a wonderful walk around the town we found ourselves in a lovely restaurant which for me was one of the highlights of the entire trip. A wonderful family owned establishment called El Turril De Los Gosalvez . The owner is a wonderful lady who danced marinera in the kitchen as her two son's cooked up a storm.

And finally it was time to say goodbye to the Amazon and ultimately Peru too. No scratch that. Not good bye, but better -- SEE YOU SOON PERU!
