A day in Dexter's life

Hi, my name is Dexter, I'm a chihuahua living in Germany and next month is my first birthday!

I was born on august 16th 2015 as one of five little chubby puppys. We were three boys and two girls but to be honest none of them was as brave and clever as I am! Even before I could open my eyes we squabbled with each other.

My precious owner and friend Fran was by my side since I was born and she knew immediately that we were a perfect match!

My days start pretty boring! My owner loves to sleep until 9am while I am already awake at 6am! :(
So she and my roommate (Lilo, six years old! A grumpy chihuahua lady) snuggle under the blanket while I wait to start our day.
The first thing we do is to play on the bed! Nothing is better than a good fight, so I challenge Lilo to be my opponent!

My favorite thing to do is to play with my ball! I'm a pretty fast little guy and I can spent the whole day running for my little yellow ball and bring it back to Fran!


When we're finished with our walk it's time for yummy food and a nap. I prefer to cuddle with Lilo on Fran's lap but I can sleep nearly everywhere as long as I'm with my humans or Lilo!


I really like to go on adventures! For example yesterday I was in a forest with my friend Nala (she's the dog of @the5kyliner) and some weeks ago, Fran, Lilo & I spent a day at the beach! Fran had no chance to sit and relax because I was so excited and had to play all day!

A lot of people think that chihuahuas are just dogs that rich girls carry in a bag but we're much more than that!
We're very intelligent and loyal, nothing is more importan to us than our owner and we love cuddling and lots and lots of kisses! Also, chihuahuas are good watchdogs and we sense everything that's odd or dangerous (even when it was just the bell...in the tv....)
Sometimes it's pretty hard when all dogs are bigger than you but that's why Lilo and I are always happy when we meet fellow chihuahuas!
