Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has enumerated Chelsea’s ruthless winning mentality as the major difference between his former club Chelsea and his current employers Arsenal.
Cech, 35, won 12 major honours while at Stamford Bridge before swapping west wards to land at north London in the summer of 2015.
“Chelsea has the cult of being a winning machine,’ said Cech, who kept his 200th Premier League clean sheet against Watford earlier this month.
The goalkeeper cited a desire to win the Premier League and Champions League with two different clubs as the main reason for joining Arsenal, but despite maintaining his position as the club’s undisputed No. 1 he hasn’t yet come near to fulfilling those cardinal objectives.
“You can see it from the top to the bottom. It works like that. The pressure just works in a different way. That’s why you have so managerial changes.
“Arsenal obviously have the same continuity, the same manager. There is a completely different philosophy and a different way of doing things.
Arsenal welcome visiting Stoke City to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday at 13:30 GMT and Chelsea on the other hand will welcome entertaining Tottenham Hotspur to Stamford Bridge at 16:00 GMT; a ‘Super Sunday’ encounter it promises to be.
